Vinland is a location mentioned in Dragons: Titan Uprising and Dragons: Rise of Berk.
Geography[]
Little is known about the geography of Vinland, but based on the brief description given, it must have large amounts of farm space in order to rear the turkeys and pumpkins necessary for the holiday of Thanksgiving.
Appearances[]
Games[]
Dragons: Titan Uprising[]
Vinland is mentioned in the description for the Gronckle, "Thanksgiving Meatlug." It is mentioned that a tribe of people live in Vinland that celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving with their native turkeys and pumpkins. Viking explorer Leif Erikson visited the land and learned of these traditions from these people, which he reported back to the Barbaric Archipelago.
Dragons: Rise of Berk[]
Vinland is mentioned in the description of the Featherhide dragon. Legend indicates that Bork the Bold travelled here and was followed back to the Archipelago by an invisible Featherhide, unbeknownst to him.
Trivia[]
- Vinland was the name given to the area of coastal North America explored by Vikings, particularly Leif Erikson in the year 1000.
- Its possible that Vinland may be the true setting of the Kullersen Fissure in Dragons: The Nine Realms, as the opening sequence in the first episode shows a meteorite crashing into that part of the globe, and the Featherhide is said to come from Vinland in Dragons: Rise of Berk.
