Skrill's Lightning Blast; White Fire?

This question is for sure one of the most confusing questions that I have ever thought of in HTTYD. I have already made a talk about the Night Fury's plasma blast, is it blue or violet. But this question is even more confusing. In every source about the Skrill's blast, some would say that the Skrill doesn't shoot lightning, instead it channels lightning blah blah blah... The Book of Dragons short, Dragon Tracker and the Guide to the Dragons book both say that it shoots bursts of WHITE FIRE. The theroy of the Skrill firing white fire is the MOST confusing question that has to do with the Skrill, ever! There are multiple theories. One of them, I have mentioned on another blog: Does the Skrill shoot White Fire. Another theroy, is that the white fire could be used as a Metaphor to lightning. So can someone tell me, can WHITE FIRE BE USED AS A METAPHOR FOR LIGHTNING??? I have not yet study chemistry, but I will in the near future, so atm, I can't explain this. But I believe that this is a very reasonable and likely theroy. Or one more theroy, not as likely as the one before, but, when the Skrill absorbs normal lightning, it fires white fire, it converts the lightning to white fire in its body. This is possible since many sources say that it fires something different from lightning, and I think you see my point. But the unlikely part is that white fire is not lightning, and in the series, the Skrill fired out basacally lightning, but in a much greater amount as you can see. So what do you guys think. I think it could be used as a metaphor, but there are very little images of white fire, well as far as I can find. The air is filled with nitrogen and oxygen and other gases, but I don't think that they play a part of this at all.
