I attended the How To Train Your Dragon panel at Comic-Con yesterday and thought I'd share a few things from it. They showed a footage culled from 7 different episodes in Season 1 and I have to say this show looks terrific. It has all the characters we know and love from the movie and introduces a few new ones. The plot revolves around what happens to the town of Burk now that dragons are co-habitating there. The beasts are unruly and difficult to train and many of the townspeople want them gone. It's up to Hiccup and his pals to really domesticate the dragons- through the establishment of a Dragon Academy. One sequence of footage really stood out-- Hiccup and his friends all competing to see who can fly their dragon the best. It's reminiscent of the first dragon flying scene of Avatar, though with a more playful tone. This series looks to have made a quite seamless transition from film to television under the careful aegis of the folks at Dreamworks Animation. Can't wait for it to air!
