Tundra Zipplewraiths are a group of Zipplewraiths that appear in the game Dragons: Titan Uprising. They later appeared in the Thawfest quest arc (2022) in the game, School of Dragons.

Official Description[]

Tundra Zipplewraiths have inherited a particularly unique perspective on the universe. Firstly, the Snow Wraith side of their heritage is intensely individualistic and anti-social, preferring habitat so far north only the craziest of Vikings would ever make their way to their frozen abodes. Secondly, the Hideous Zippleback side of their ancestry is equipped with two distinct personalities in one single Dragon. This means that no matter how alone the Tundra Zipplewraith is, they will always have company. In some Tundra Zipplewraiths, this is a saving grace, preventing them from the lunacy that being isolated and alone will lead to. In others, the divide between personalities is so intense that Tundra Zipplewraiths become divided against themselves, desperate for alone time that never comes. Tundra Zipplewraiths so afflicted can be difficult to deal with, as you never know which of their personalities will come to the forefront. It makes working with them exciting and unpredictable.

Physical Appearance[]

Tundra Zipplewraiths are light blue with darker shades on its back and tails. They have pale underbellies and white spots on their backs. Their horns and lobes are dark brown, while their eyes are yellow.

Personality[]

Tundra Zipplewraith individuals can harbor two distinct personalities, due to the two distinct heads. This can lead to both self conflict and companionship. Each personality will never be alone, which can be both beneficial and a nuisance. Due to influence from the Snow Wraith parentage, Tundra Zipplewraiths can be territorial ans solitary, except within small - possibly familial - groups. Also similar to Snow Wraiths, they greatly prefer cold Northern climates, but can be seen occasionally farther south.

Trivia[]

SOD-Email Zipplewraith Inquiry
  • The Tundra Zipplewraith was introduced in the game Dragons: Titan Uprising, where they functioned as, and were presented as, a character group. However, in School of Dragons, the Tundra Zipplewraith was introduced as a subspecies of the Zipplewraith. School of Dragons help desk personnel later indicated the Tundra Zipplewraith was not a subspecies.
    • Biologically in taxonomic classification, a hybrid cannot have subspecies, as they are not a species themselves at that point in time. There may be different physical variations of a hybrid, however, as seen with the human-induced hybrid, the mule.
