It's made of dragon scales for protection from fire and glued together with dried-out Monstrous Nightmare gel. It also consists of underclothes to wear under the armor, knee pads, and a clear glass visor over the eyes on the helmet.
Physical Appearance[]
His fire suit and helmet are mostly black with blue scales with the clothing under it navy blue. His helmet and shoulder pads have a blue Night Light symbol on it and three blue spikes on top.
History[]
Dragons: The Nine Realms[]
Season 3[]
In "Fire Escape", Tom's suit was made, but it was still incomplete as the suit could not tolerate the heat of the realm. So Tom planned to have a Monstrous Nightmare keep testing out the suit, which only agitated the dragon into flaming up out of fear and frustration. After the dragon calmed down and bonded with Tom, he found out that the glue kept giving out and wasn't strong enough to bind the suit and tolerate the Fire Realm. Later, Alex found that the gel from the dragon became sticky and fireproof once it dried out, and it became the key to creating a fully effective fire suit for Tom.
In "Ride or Die", Alex had finally finished a working version of the Fire Suits in which Tom tests and demonstrates his one out by having his Monstrous Nightmare blast at him, in which revealing the fire suit works and impresses the others. Alex also states that she had only made two working fire suits and that Tom just couldn't wait to put his on. Later Tom and Jun then decide to explore the Fire Realm together with their new fire suits.
In "Empty Fireworm Nest", Tom and the other riders wear their fire suits while exploring and having fun in the Fire Realm and even use them to fly close to a flock of Fireworm dragons. Later after Fireworms begin migrating through the Crystal Realm bothering the dragons there Tom and D'Angelo wear their fire suits again to to try and capture them before they cause more trouble and for Jun and Alex to return with a missing Fireworm.
In "Dr. Catastrophe", Tom and the riders once again wear their fire suits to get a trio of annoying Fire Gronckles back into the fire realm and help rescue some Catastrophic Quake eggs from the Gronckles.
In "Magma Comes to the Surface", after curing the Magma Breather and getting it back into its rightful home the Fire Realm Tom and the riders wear their fire suits to check on it and for Tom to forge his crystal into a sword.
Season 5[]
In "Welcome to the Wonderful World of Dragons", Tom and Jun use their fire suits to bring the Magma Breather as a part of his "safe" tour of the Hidden World for his mom.
Season 7[]
In "Rise of Jörmungandr", when traveling through the Dark Valley to stop Buzzsaw from unleashing the world serpent, when approaching the Crystal Whip's territory Alex states they should've worn their fire suits.
Season 8[]
In "How to Train Jörmungandr" while practising using Valka's Staff to stop Jörmungandr, so in the Fire Realm where he practises to train a Fire Gronckle.
In "Ragnarok: Part 1", Tom and Jun wear their Fire Suits to enter the Fire Realm in which to procure both a Fire Gronckle and Iron Ore to help build a Gronckle Iron cage gate to trap Jörmungandr in.
In "Ragnarok: Part 2", Tom and the other riders part from Eugene wear their fire suits minus their helmets to fight Jörmungandr.
