The Thunderbottom is a hybrid between a Thunderdrum and a Gronckle that first appeared in the game, Dragons: Titan Uprising.

Official Description[]

Thunderbottoms are as heavy and bulky as their gronckle parent but built even wider thanks to their thunderdrum heritage. They're very sociable as long as you mean them no harm. The irony of their playful roughhousing with friends frequently crushing trees, rocks, and buildings is lost on them.

Thunderbottoms are large and in charge. Their spiky mace-like tails smash through timber like toothpicks.

Physical Appearance[]

Egg[]

A Thunderbottom egg is small and rounds, with small bumps covering it in its entirety, similar to a Gronckle egg. It has a light primary color, with darker spots on its lower half, like a Thunderdrum egg.

Hatchling to Adult[]

The body of a Thunderbottom is similar to that of the Thunderdrum parent, but sporting the heavy build of a Gronckle. The tail ends in a heavy bludgeon, similar to that of a Gronckle. The Thunderbottom has a large head with a wide mouth lined with teeth of both a Thunderdrum and a Gronckle. It has a small bumpy nasal horn and bulged eyes. The Thunderbottom has a pair of external ears and a long row of small narrow spines along its back and tail. The Thunderbottom has three protrusions on both sides of its head, like the Thunderdrum and several bumps on its body, similar to those of a Gronckle.

Titan Wing[]

A Titan Wing Thunderbottom is significantly larger than its adult counterpart. It has bigger and sharper spines and teeth. Its wing claws become thicker and gain the shape of a hook. Its bumps turn into triangular spikes that have a weak glow.

Abilities[]

Firepower[]

Just like their Gronckle parent, Thunderbottoms can shoot balls of fire or even lava. They produce it by eating large amount of rocks and melting them inside theur stomachs.

Production of Gronckle Iron[]

He is, however, more than happy to help produce the Gronckle Iron needed to reinforce the structures, in turn making Berk stronger than it was before.
  Dragons: Titan Uprising

Just like Gronckles, Thunderbottoms are capable of producing Gronckle Iron by ingesting a certain combination of rocks, melting them in their stomachs, then spewing them out in the form of lava.

Bludgeon-like Tail[]

When he gets his belly rubbed his tail swings like a wild bludgeon, taking out walls, support beams, and sometimes unfortunate souls caught in the line of fire.

Thunderbottoms have a powerful tail in the shape of a bludgeon, that they can use for offense. By swinging it back and forth, Thunderbottoms are able to destroy entire buildings in a matter of minutes.

Strength and Combat[]

Academy scouts identify potential packs by looking for patches of fallen trees, which they often knock over with their massive bodies while play fighting.
  Dragons: Titan Uprising

Thunderbottoms have immense strength due to their body size. They can easily knock down trees with their bodies, although most of the time they do it unintentionally.

Behavior and Personality[]

They are well known for their bold, steadfast demeanor, and total lack of manners. They aren't aggressive or violent, just wild at heart.
  Dragons: Titan Uprising

Thunderbottoms appear to be aggressive and territorial at first, but once one gets to know them better, one can discover their softer side. Thunderbottoms are a social species, that live in packs. They tend to look out for each other, especially their young. Thunderbottoms often fight among themselves for the purpose of entertainment, even as adults. This makes them accidentally knock down trees nearby, which signal other animals to their presence.

Training[]

In other to train a Thunderbottom, one must prove to the dragon that they mean no harm. Scratching its belly or giving it food are the easiest way to gain a Thunderbottom's trust. Once tamed, the Thunderbottom will remain loyal to its trainer and protect them at all costs.
