Just a heads-up, the seasonal market in ROB has 10 more days until it changes, which most likely means that there will be a new update next week. I remember that last update took you by surprise, so I thought you'd want to know beforehand this time.
There's this image in the in-game news, but I'm not sure what it's supposed to be. At first I thought that it might be something Hidden World related (like they did in SOD), but then I realised it's not the actual entrance, so it can be anything.
BTW I did see your comment about the Skrillnapper - agreed!
Yeah, I just wanted to sate my opinion about hybrids somewhere, and that seemed the best place to do so. I also have an account on the SOD forums, although there I go by the name Itarille (same profile pic as here).
Yeah the only reason I clicked was because it thumbnailed your user pic. Was like “Oh it’s Tauriel!”. You haven’t really posted on the SOD forum have you? Don’t remember seeing that name. I don’t post a great deal. Not too much useful info anymore.
As for the whirlpool, maybe not a legendary? But usually promos like that are. Fathomfin would be cool, but Krayfin is already established. Or it could be another Shellfire, Bewilderbeast, or Purple-ish Death. Even tinier chance of being a possibility- a book Sea Dragon. There are a number of “legendary” size species that would fit the bill.
Wait ... you don’t think they’d do a flippin’ hybrid do you???
Usually, ROB releases its updates on Tuesdays (or at least it has been doing so for the last 2 years) and I think they would want to update the game before Beltane ends (like they did with Thawfest and the flower festival thingy).
I just updated my game as the new update was released this week. I am really liking the new look of the box on the right side of the screen. Instead of every different thing in the box on the right side of the screen and having to scroll up and risk hitting something you didn't want to hit, there are three different things to hit, that are always there, which are a news button, an event button, and an offer button. Those three things have separate tabs in the same pop-up, which is great as well. On top of that the news, offers, and events pop-up is now its own pop-up, completely separated from the pop up with the mail, settings, achievements, and community tabs. The setup with those things is so much better than it was before this update. Outstanding job by the developers with making things less cluttered, and making things more user friendly in this update.
One other thing is that there is a fourth item only when there is a parchment to complete, which there currently is, which appears in the box on the right underneath the other three items.
I have alreay bought the Submaripper and I have to say that if there weren't already smaller Submarippers in the game, this Legendary wouldn't have been disappointing at all. It has a completely different animation than the other Legendaries, which just kinda look around, as it dives into the water, jumps out, spins for a bit, then falls back with a splash.
BTW, small thing I noticed, the Crimson Goregutter's island has been given a name and it's Havenholme. It's good to see ROB acknowledging DONR and it also opens up the possibility of the Gorgutter being Eir's.
Another thing I've just noticed on the Submaripper: although it doesn't have minion dragons like the Seedlings or the Marooned, it has collections for all other Submarippers in the game (Shipsbane, Mopey-Slick, Deepkeeper etc.) and thus has unique items it can search for, such as the Death Song Amber Goggles.
Come to think of it, most legendaries/giant dragons are Tidal Class. Would be interesting to have a Sharp Class or a Tracker Class giant in the future, although it seems unlikely that ROB will ever create a new species for the game.
What are we even calling this thing? I mean, the “regular” Submarippers have a Titan form already. So what is this like ultra deluxe Titan form? This really messes with the established in-universe dragon growth stages.
The "regular" Submarippers in the game were already shrunken down in size compared to their appearance in RTTE to ensure that they could be placed on the islands. It's likely that ROB wanted to implment an acurately-sized Submaripper, although I personally would have wanted a new dragon instead.
The weird thing is that the Legendary Submaripper is much bigger than the Shellfire in-game, yet in the series it was clearly smaller. And the model of the Legendary Submaripper looks nearly identical to that of Shipsbane in-game rather than a Titan Wing Submaripper.
The dagger is obviously Viggo's and that bottle is most likely the one with Changewing acid seen in "Dire Straits". Not sure what the silver bell is supposed to be since there were no bells in the episodes with the Submaripper.
I'm pretty sure that the winch is also from the Diving Bell, with it seeming to be based off of the winch used to lower the Diving Bell into the water during at the very least its tests at Lars Lake, which you can see in the middle of this image.
