Description[]
Skunks (family Mephitidae) are small mammals most famously known for producing a foul scented liquid that they can spray from their anal glands. They can be black or brown, but they all have one or multiple white stripes on their back, as a warning sign for predators. Skunks can dig borrows with their frontal claw, which they can use to sleep for long periods of time during winter, similar to hibernation. Skunks are omnivorous, with their diet ranging from roots and berries, to insects and small reptiles, and sometimes even other mammals, such as rodents.

Skunks have no function in the How to Train Your Dragon Franchise.
In real life, it is legal for people to keep skunks as pets in some countries.
