The Skrill possesses a crown of spikes on its head, which are all similar in length to those of a Deadly Nadder. The Skrill also has short spines on its chin. They also have a row of overlapping scales along either side of its neck.

The Skrill does not breathe fire. It can absorb and store electrical energy from lightning bolts, using its metallic spines to channel the lighting through its body and fire destructive blasts through its mouth.
Serrated Teeth[]
According to Fishlegs, the Skrill has serrated teeth that allow it to produce significant bleeding when biting.

Behaviour and Personality[]
According to the Book of Dragons the Skrill is described as mysterious and aggressive. Skrills often gravitate towards thunderstorms. However, despite being egotistically aggressive, they are capable of coexisting with humans.
During the Dragon Raid when Stoick asks what dragons they're dealing with, one of the Vikings states that Skrills are a part of the raid. Later as Hiccup reads the Book of Dragons he comes across the Skrill page. When Hiccup and Astrid find themselves amongst the dragon flock, Skrills were seen hauling in their kill with the other dragons as well as perching and hiding in the crevasses in the volcano until the Red Death scares the flock out the volcano. Soon as the Vikings approach Dragon Island, a Skrill and some other dragons are seen perched on rocks standing guard but don't attack the Vikings to which they claimed the dragons knew something they didn't. However, when they do arrive at Dragon Island and crack open the mountain, many Skrills fled with the other dragons before the Red Death broke out to kill them all. Soon after the Red Death's defeat and the Dragons moved to Berk, many Skrills were seen living in the village with the other dragons.
