Official Description[]
“
Trained by Hiccup, this intelligent Terrible Terror understands verbal commands. Its unique abilities include rapid fire sniper fireballs and air mail message delivery.
Sharpshot first appeared in "Worst in Show" as one of the Terrible Terrors in a crate that Fishlegs presented to the other Dragon Riders at the Academy on hopes of one-upping Snotlout at who can train a dragon better. Each Rider grabbed a Terror and took out home to train. Sharpshot was claimed, and named by Hiccup.
That night Hiccup took Toothless and Sharpshot on a short visit to Fishlegs' house where he was friendly with Fishlegs' Terror, Iggy. The following day, back at the Academy, Hiccup volunteered to go first in showing the other teens what he had trained his Terror to do. He had Toothless balance three wooden ducks on his wing, and toss them up into the air. Once the decoys were airborne, Sharpshot flew up and shot each of them with precision before landing back on Hiccup's arm. The other Riders were too caught up with their own Terrors' abilities to be very impressed.
Later, after Alvin dragon-napped Meatlug, Sharpshot helped free her by shooting three of the ropes tying her to Alvin's ship. The other teens' Terrors aided in the escape as well, throwing Alvin and Savage for a loop. And together, they were able to free the larger dragon.
Sharpshot reappeared in "Appetite for Destruction" as an air mail deliverer. Hiccup pulled him out of Toothless' saddle bag and attached a letter to his leg. Astrid was doubtful it would work, but Hiccup was confident it would. Sharpshot delivered the letter to Fishlegs and Snotlout to meet them on Dragon Island. Much to Astrid's embarrassment, out worked splendidly when she and Hiccup returned to the island to see the two other Riders waiting for them. And Fishlegs was affectionately playing with Sharpshot.
Fishlegs later sent Sharpshot to deliver a message to the twins and Snotlout warning them about the Screaming Death. Unfortunately, he found the twins first, and they were unnerved at the Terror following them around, without noticing the letter attached to his leg. In an attempt to get the little dragon to lose interest in them, they pretended to be statues. Thankfully Snotlout later discovered what was happening and read the letter, resulting in him and the twins finally meeting the other three Riders to help drive off the Screaming Death.
In "Cast Out, Part 2", Sharpshot accompanied Hiccup to Outcast Island in an attempt to rescue Stoick. He was resting in Toothless' saddle bag, but Hiccup took him out so he could send air mail to Astrid and the other Riders back at the Academy with a plan to bring the Screaming Death to the island.
Physical Appearance[]
Sharpshot has the typical appearance of a Terrible Terror and is about the size of a small dog. It's main body color is green with reddish-brown highlights.
Personality[]
Sharpshot initially displayed a shy personality, as when Fishlegs took the lid of the Terrors' crate he merely took a quick look around before hiding out of sight. When chosen by Hiccup he then showed a mellow nature, chattering to himself and twitching its head around. Unlike other dragons in the series, he doesn't attack Snotlout.
In a way, he behaves much like that of a trained hunting falcon, perching on Hiccup's arm after completing a task. He is also a bit playful, scampering around and onto Hiccup's head when he was explaining how Terrors were territorial.
When trained for air mail, Sharpshot took the job seriously, as he did not stop chasing Ruffnut and Tuffnut until he delivered the message.
Abilities and Skills[]
Hiccup had train his Terrible Terror the most. He use his abilities to be able to train enough to learn amazing skills to better then other train Terrible Terrors.
Sniper Fire: Taking advantage of the Terrible Terror's ability to launch its fire breath with pinpoint accuracy, Hiccup trained his Terrible Terror to fire on command and in rapid bursts. This allows Sharpshot to take out multiple targets with efficiency.
Intelligence and Communication Skills: Sharpshot is able to understand basic commands through hand signals. Sharpshot is shown to possibly be more intelligent than Iggy. As Sharpshot has learned a greater number of skills and unlike Iggy, does not need an image to carry messages, to and from.
Air Mail Delivery: Hiccup trained Sharpshot to send messages to the others by it's kind that returns to their territory.
Sharpshot has the same color scheme as the Terrible Terror that attacked Tuffnut during Dragon training in the first film, and the wild Terror snuggled next to Hiccup after being fed.
It is more likely that Sharpshot is the wild Terror that Hiccup fed, as the two seem to have swiftly formed a bond.
It is also possible that Sharpshot made a cameo appearance near the end of the second film as the Terrible Terror that attempted to pick up the sheep on its own.
Sharpshot is the only one of the trained Terrible Terrors to know more than one skill.
