Sharks are predatory fish in the class of cartilaginous fish. Some sharks are apex predators in the ocean.
Appearances
In How to Ride a Dragon's Storm, Gobber told the vikings participating in the Intertribal Friendly Swimming race that their hunting dragons were going to fly above them while they swim to protect them from sea creatures incuding sharks.
In the Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon, Gobber's story of his relationship and encounter with the Boneknapper involved Hammerhead Sharks. They were in the way when Gobber was trying to swim pass. He then jumped on them to get to another island.
In the HTTYD theme song, when Toothless and Hiccup were flying through the crack, there was a shark among the waves.

A shark was seen sticking its fin out of the water and was following Alvin, Savage, Mildew and Fungus after their ship exploded. It is most likely a great white shark.

Tuffnut was putting a shark made of fabric on the wall in the academy in a cage where Hookfang used to stay for emergencies. Tuffnut was later playing and dancing with it when he heard that Snotlout was still suspended.
