These Scuttleclaw Hatchlings first appeared in How to Train Your Dragon 2.

Second Dragon War

When the Dragon Riders and company are stranded at Valka's Mountain, while Drago Bludvist moves toward Berk to attack the village. The only dragons immune to the control of a Bewilderbeast are baby dragons, and there is a group of young Scuttleclaws available. The Dragon Riders mount and fly the unruly juveniles, but eventually make it back to Berk to save the day.

A New Home

In the aftermath of the attack by Drago, the Scuttleclaw juveniles take up residence on Berk. Hiccup, now Chief, leaves Gobber in charge while he leaves to help the people of Nepenthe. The brood of Scuttleclaws wreaks havoc on Gobber's Smithy, chewing on everything and not listening. However, Bonesnarl the Thunderclaw arrives, and takes charge of the wild dragon children and gets them in line.

Leaving Berk

A year after Drago's defeat, the juvenile Scuttleclaws continue to live on the overcrowded Berk. But when the notorious dragon hunter Grimmel the Grisly threatens to destroy everything Hiccup loves, the Scuttleclaws and the entire Hooligan Tribe flies away to find the Hidden World. They eventually settle on an island that the Vikings name New Berk.

All of the juvenile Scuttleclaws rush in to rescue their Alpha, but are forced to be caged so that Grimmel will spare the Light Fury. After a huge battle that results in Grimmel's death and the dragons' freedom, the Vikings decided to send all of the dragons to the Hidden World to protect them. The Scuttleclaws say their farewells before flying off to the Hidden World alongside all the other dragons.

Physical Appearance

The juveniles are a variety of colors including predominantly: blue, purple, yellow, green, and red. As with many young creatures, the Scuttleclaw babies have large heads and big eyes.
