Plot[]
After the close call with William Rakke Jr. almost finding out about the dragon secret, the riders begin returning the fostered dragons back to the Hidden World. They head to Pete's to bring Jerry, the Speed Stinger he fostered, back to the Hidden World; but Pete, who has quickly formed a deep bond with Jerry, tries to hide him, and Jerry ends up being startled, and then running off. After catching Jerry, Pete pleads with the riders not to return him to the Hidden World where Jörmungandr is running rampant. The riders assure him that they are working to stop the serpent, and agree to take Jerry back for last to let Pete say goodbye.
Meanwhile, in the Ice Realm, Jörmungandr's rampage has allowed Buzzsaw to capture more dragons than ever, but Ford and Winston are more worried about Jörmungandr attacking them. However, an overconfident Buzzsaw believes that they can easily chase it off with their ballista. In the Nature Realm, while the riders try and search for a place to hide the dragons, they discover Jörmungandr's path of destruction is destroying the environment too. Jun then recalls the legend about Jörmungandr, stating that it will poison land, water, and air, leading to the destruction of the Nine Realms. The riders then find a lone Deadly Nadder poisoned by Jörmungandr, and Tom fears that the other Nadder were chased off or worse. The Nadder is brought to the dragon hospital, and Tom is frustrated that everything they've tried is not working. When the kids find Jerry acting out again, Tom comes up with a plan to use a giant dose of Speed Stinger venom on Jörmungandr to paralyze it long enough to imprison it again. When Eugene points out how hard it would be to get that much venom, Alex suggests getting some help from her moms; but Jun adds that even if they get the right amount of venom, they will still need a way to get close enough to inject it. Then remembering that Buzzsaw has a ballista, Tom decides to steal it from him, and use it to fire the venom from a safe distance. But with Tom and Jun still feeling awkward with each other since their break up, Jun decides to bring Alex with them to steal the ballista, while D'Angelo and Eugene work with Alex's moms to extract the venom.
Using his dragon suit, and with Pete's help, D'Angelo manages to safely bring Jerry to the ICARIS station to extract his venom. Meanwhile, Tom's team manages to infiltrate Buzzsaw's camp, but Tom and Jun's awkwardness with each other interferes with the mission, and an annoyed Alex is caught in the middle. They were unable to find Buzzsaw, but instead, find Ford and Winston practicing in using the ballista. Tom then comes up with a plan to capture them. Back at the lab, Carla and Hazel are making progress on synthesizing the venom, when Eugene's negligence allows Jerry to get loose, and cause trouble again. But with Pete's help, D'Angelo and Eugene are able to extract enough venom from Jerry.
At Buzzsaw's camp, Feathers mimics the sound of an escaped Terrible Terror to trick Ford and Winston into a trap, but Tom and Jun let their awkwardness mess up the plan. Alex takes charge, and has the dragons trap Ford and Winston in a net, and then calls out Tom and Jun for their lack of communication. Ford and Winston then beg to be taken out of the Hidden World out of fear of Buzzsaw's wrath. The kids free all of Buzzsaw's captured dragons, take the ballista, and then bring the two henchmen to the surface. They then bring Ford and Winston to ICARIS, where D'Angelo's team have finished synthesizing enough venom for Jörmungandr. Meanwhile, Buzzsaw returns to his camp, and discovers his captured dragons and henchmen are gone. The only thing he finds are Ford and Winston's Gronckles, but without their riders, the two Gronckles are finally free, and promptly fly off. Buzzsaw then vows vengeance on whoever was responsible.
The riders find Jörmungandr in the Nature Realm, and plan to lure him to the ballista, where Tom will take the shot with the venom-coated ballista when it gets close enough. The other riders attack Jörmungandr to agitate it into pursuing them and lure it to the ballista. However, Jörmungandr realizes it is being lured into a trap, and begins leaving, forcing Alex to get close and harass it into following her back towards the ballista. The serpent gets into firing range, but Buzzsaw attacks Tom, just as he takes the shot, causing him to miss a direct hit, and failing to inject the venom. But before Buzzsaw can take his revenge on Tom, Jörmungandr sees Buzzsaw next to the ballista, and assumes that he was responsible for the attack. It then proceeds to chase after him and Jack. With their plan failed, the riders can do nothing but head home. Jun tries to console Tom, but he's too depressed to talk about it or their relationship.
