Rigormortis is a male hunting dragon once belonging to Very-Vicious the Visithug, but who was later given to Stoick the Vast after his master deemed him disobediant.

One of several splendid hunting dragons of high value that belonged to Very-Vicious the Visithug, Rigormortis accompanied his master and the rest of the Visithug Tribe in their disappointing raid on the Peaceable Country, where he would have presumably helped his master in Very-Vicious' sadistic plans of hunting down the island's inhabitants, had the Peaceable Tribe not been forewarned by their Hooligan neighbours. Following the expedition, Rigormortis accompanied his master to the Isle of Berk, where Vicious was presented with his Hogfly, Hellsbells, by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. When Hiccup challenged Vicious to prove that any of his hunting dragons could fetch an apple, like the Hogfly had fetched eagerly, Rigormortis was the second the Visithug called upon. However, when Hiccup tossed the item Rigormortis was instructed to fetch, the dragon instantly recognized the object to be the egg of a Throatgoggler and refused to collect it, instead standing in place, trembling before finally breaking under the terror and, with a small whine of apology, leaping back into the air and away. Considering this a sign of disobedience, Very-Vicious, who failed to recognize the Throatgoggler egg for what it was, gave Rigormortis, along with the rest of his hunting dragons, away to Stoick, who later attempted to offer one of them to Dastardly Dangerus the Tenth instead of Toothless.
