“ | Hiccup had sledded before, but never on a hill so steep that it was practically a cliff. And in fact the exact descent that they made has now become an annual competition on Hysteria. It is known as the Potato-Burglars' Run | ” |
— Book 4 |
The Potato-Burglars' Run is a sledding activity arising from the events in How to Cheat a Dragon's Curse.
History[]
At the time of Book 4, the potato was a mythological vegetable and it was also the only thing that could cure Vorpentitis. Hiccup desperately wanted to save his friend, Fishlegs, whom had the symptoms of Vorpentitis. He and Camicazi embarked on a Quest for the Frozen Potato. A potato was said to be located on Hysteria, brought back from the imaginary land America. Hiccup and Camicazi infiltrate the Hysteric Great Hall and cause a ruckus, resulting in the Great Hall catching fire. Hiccup and Camicazi make their escape by sitting on an enormous silver platter and sled down the mountain from Hysteric Village to Hysteric Harbor.
Gameplay[]
The annual Potato-Burglars' Run "follows the same route that Hiccup and Camicazi took, starting, as they did, on top of the roof of the Great Hall, and ending, less than two minutes later, in Hysteria Harbor." It takes place during the Winter, when snow covers Hysteria.
It is unclear what competitors are graded on, whether time, quality of the run, or something else.
“ | The Potato-Burglars' Run is the most dangerous toboggan run in the Inner Isles, and for those brave enough to try it, accidents are common. | ” |
