Official Description[]

Plowhorn is a Gembreaker dragon in the Tracker Class and is big and bulky with a diamond-crystal rhino-like 'ramming' horn. Plowhorn has a bullish personality and a deep, throaty growl. Even though she seems big, Plowhorn was the runt of her tribe and was bullied by three other Gembreakers, which resulted in her being blinded in her left eye.

Although she comes off like a grump, D'Angelo's compassion and trust helps to reveal that she has a very sweet heart. The duo soon discovers they love to smash stuff together! Always ready to stand her ground, she serves as the dragon pack's muscle. Her heightened sense of smell makes her a fantastic tracker, and she can unleash big explosive 'breath-bombs.'

Physical Appearance[]

Plowhorn exhibits blue and light gray scales, with her right eye displaying a combination of yellow and blue hues. Unfortunately, her left eye has been rendered blind due to injuries inflicted by the Gembreakers, leaving a visible scar. Her wing shells possess a darker shade of blue compared to her scales, and she showcases light blue crystals on her tail, elbows, and horn. Plowhorn's physical attributes demonstrate an exceptional level of intricate and diverse coloration.

Personality[]

Plowhorn, like many Gembreaker dragons, exhibits a demeanor that can initially appear gruff and grumpy to those who first interact with her. She tends to get easily irritated and often seems unimpressed by most individuals she encounters. This was particularly evident during her initial encounter with the Dragon Club, as she repeatedly attacked them despite their attempts to provide assistance for the injuries she had sustained from her previous pack. It is possible that this irritable and highly defensive personality stems from the mistreatment she endured from her former pack, who consistently bullied her prior to her departure from the group.

Plowhorn, in contrast to most other Gembreakers, exhibits a notably kinder and gentler demeanor. After receiving compassionate care from D'Angelo for her injuries, Plowhorn underwent a positive transformation, becoming more open and content. Her previous hostility towards new dragons and humans diminished significantly. Presently, she displays remarkable affection and playfulness towards individuals she considers friends, particularly her rider D'Angelo and the other dragons in their Club. Plowhorn's past experiences with her previous pack, which often resulted in severe injuries, have fostered a deep empathy within her. Consequently, she readily extends her assistance in any way possible to help the sick and injured dragons that D'Angelo treats, striving to aid their recovery and well-being.

Plowhorn occasionally displays signs of having a dry sense of humor. While she loves D'Angelo, she is unafraid to make him look bad when one of his antics gets the better of him, showing that she has a slightly mischievous side to her as well.

Abilities, Talents, and Skills[]

Charging Power: Utilizing her large crystal-like horn, Plowhorn will charge at objects or opponents and ram them at high speeds. Her horn possesses a significantly high density, strong enough to easily break through solid rocks and crystals with only the slightest amount of force. She also can plow more than one human in one charge, as she demonstrated on Buzzsaw, Ford, and Winston in "Scent of a Dragon".

Intelligence: Like other Gembreakers, Plowhorn is shown to be much smarter than she may look to most others. During her first flight with D'Angelo, when the bullying Gembreakers had cornered Tom, Thunder, Wu/Wei and Jun, she took notice of the large crystal above her former tormentors' heads and brought it down with her horn, knowing that it would fall on top of them.

Explosive Blast: Like all Gembreakers, for firepower, Plowhorn can release a highly flammable and explosive, liquid-like blast from her mouth. This attack is shown to be highly destructive, especially when released in large amounts. When it strikes a target, the blast is capable of destroying large quantities of rock and even incapacitating enemy dragons for long periods of time.

Tracking: Plowhorn, belonging to the Tracker Class, possesses an extraordinary olfactory sense, enabling her to excel as a tracker. This exceptional ability allows her to trace the scents of different dragons, individuals, or objects over considerable distances. Leveraging this skill, she successfully monitored Thunder's scent and accurately retraced his path from the Crystal Realm to the Underworld. However, she encounters difficulty in tracking effectively during a snowstorm, as the harsh weather conditions make it challenging to discern and follow any scent.

Disguise: Plowhorn employs a strategic survival technique by retracting her legs and positioning herself flat on her underside. This posture allows her to resemble a boulder when observed from a distance, effectively camouflaging her presence. Her horn can been seen mostly, but it blends in well with a crystal-filled environment, as seen in "Follow the Lightning, Part 2" while hiding from Thunder's Nemesis in the Silver Maze.

Relationships[]

D'Angelo Baker[]

Main article: D'Angelo and Plowhorn's Relationship

D'Angelo serves as not only the veterinary expert of the Dragon Club, but also as Plowhorn's rider and best friend. The two first met after Plowhorn had been left injured by her old Gembreaker pack, during which Tom and Jun brought D'Angelo to the Crystal Realm to treat her injuries. Initially, however, Plowhorn was aggressive towards him, despite his sympathies and best attempts to help her. Eventually, however, D'Angelo's kindness had an effect on Plowhorn, allowing her to trust him enough for him to treat the scar over her left eye and remove a crystal shard stuck in her wing. Following this, Plowhorn became extremely fond of D'Angelo, having no problem with him riding her when they soon battled the Gembreakers that injured her.

After they bonded, Plowhorn joined D'Angelo as a member of the Dragon Club, with the two sharing a very powerful bond. D'Angelo is quite doting towards Plowhorn, who, in turn, is very affectionate and protective of him. The two often work together not only during Dragon Club missions, but also while treating injured dragons, with D'Angelo affectionately referring to her as "Nurse Plowhorn". Despite their warm and caring relationship, Plowhorn does often get irritated with D'Angelo due to his goofy antics and occasionally when he displays arrogance, such as in taking command of the Club when Tom is not around or allowing his skills as a vet to cloud his judgement. Still, she shows such great love for him through every adventure, even when something goes wrong.

Tom Kullersen[]

Tom first encountered Plowhorn in the Crystal Realm of the Hidden World, when she was seriously injured after a fight with the other members of her pack. Though she was aggressive towards Tom and attacked him when he got close to her, the boy still sympathized with her, and sought to get her help, even getting his classmate D'Angelo to help treat her, despite his reluctance to let other people know about dragons. After Plowhorn bonded with D'Angelo, she and Tom came to be on good terms with each other. Like with all the dragons in the Dragon Club, Tom cares about Plowhorn's wellbeing and is always willing to both help and protect her, a sentiment Plowhorn shares with him.

Jun Wong[]

Along with Tom, Plowhorn first met Jun in the Crystal Realm after she was seriously injured by her siblings. Like with Tom, she was initially hostile towards Jun and violently rebuked the girl's sympathies for her condition and her attempts to help her. Though Jun was weary of Plowhorn for her aggressive behavior, she nonetheless sympathized with her condition so much that she managed to convince Tom to allow D'Angelo to help her, despite his reluctance to let other humans know about the dragons.

After Plowhorn was healed and bonded with D'Angelo, she managed to save Jun, Tom, and their dragons from her attacking siblings, earning her the human's eternal gratitude. Since then, Plowhorn has gotten along extremely well with Jun. In fact, to D'Angelo's ire, Jun will occasionally train Plowhorn to do circus tricks along with Wu/Wei behind his back.

Alexandra Gonzalez[]

When Plowhorn first encountered Alex in the woods outside of ICARIS, their relationship started out rocky, despite finding her curious. Having never seen dragons before, Alex was initially terrified of Plowhorn, Thunder, and Wu-Wei and ran away from them in fear. After she bonded with Feathers, however, Alex became on good terms with Plowhorn. Alex is shown to consider her to be wiser than her rider D'Angelo and urges him to listen to her more. When he doesn't, this often leads to problems for him and the Dragon Club as a whole. In "Follow the Lightning, Part 1", Alex's respect for Plowhorn grew even stronger when the Gembreaker was willing to charge through the fiery tornado created by the Guardian Razorwhip to save the Dragon Club from certain death. This caused Alex to deeply admire Plowhorn for her courage, with the young girl offering the dragon words of encouragement before she and D'Angelo charged forward through the storm.

Eugene Wong[]

Unlike the friendship she has with his sister, Plowhorn generally isn't very fond of Eugene due to his immature and mischievous behavior, despite the fact that they are teammates. When they first met, she refused to let him pet her even though he found her impressive. She also doesn't appreciate it when Eugene attempts to take charge over the dragons and give them orders, as he did in "Magma Comes to the Surface". Despite this, she and Eugene are indeed allies and they will both work and fight alongside each other when the situation calls for it.

Olivia Kullersen[]

While they rarely interact, Plowhorn knows that Olivia is the mother of the club's human leader, Tom. Because of this, Plowhorn cares about Olivia's safety, as seen in "Sting It On!", when she was paralyzed and tried to fly her to safety, despite being stung herself. This proves she will do everything she can to protect her.

Philip Baker[]

Plowhorn officially meets D'Angelo's father, Philip Baker, for the first time in "Deep Freeze" after rescuing him from falling into the Fissure with her crystal horn. He, in turn, was shocked and frightened seeing her up close but later became grateful as she saved his life and used her fire breath to create a fire for him and the other ICARIS workers to keep warm. During season 6, she became willing to help the chief of security with certain tasks around the station, like stacking delivery boxes, to show she holds a deep respect for her rider's dad. In "Hobs and Saw", she wasn't happy to hear that he planned to shut down the dragon hospital and ban dragons from ICARIS due to the threat of Buzzsaw, when really it was because the Chief wanted her rider to become an army ranger over a dragon vet and follow in his footsteps. But when he bonded with Hobgobbler Hobs, he changed his mind and they remained on good terms.

When Jörmungandr threatened all life in the Hidden World and on the surface, he knew that the kids would be sad if ICARIS closed down and the dragons had to return to hiding. Though he was sad Plowhorn and the dragons did go back to the Hidden World to stay hidden, he still loved Plowhorn enough to keep her existence a secret.

Angela Baker[]

Plowhorn officially meet D'Angelo's mother, Angela Baker, for the first time in "Deep Freeze" after rescuing her husband from falling into the Fissure. She, in turn, was shocked and speechless seeing her up close but later became grateful as she rescued Philip and used her fire breath to create a fire for her and the other ICARIS workers to keep warm. Between Angela and Phil, Angela seems to have developed a strong liking towards the dragons, including Plowhorn.

When Jörmungandr threatened all life in the Hidden World and on the surface, she knew that the kids would be sad if ICARIS closed down and the dragons had to return to hiding. Though she was sad Plowhorn and the dragons did go back to the Hidden World to stay hidden, she still loved Plowhorn enough to keep her existence a secret.

Thunder[]

Thunder is Plowhorn's and the other club dragons' leader, with whom she is close friends with. Initially, however, their relationship was hostile when they first met in the Crystal Realm. Despite Thunder and his rider sympathizing with Plowhorn after she got seriously injured by her siblings, she was aggressive towards the Night Light and attacked him when he got to close. This initially caused Thunder to be weary of her. Their relationship greatly improved, however, after Plowhorn was healed by and bonded with D'Angelo, during which Plowhorn rescued Thunder and his rider from her attacking siblings. Since then, they have become very good friends with each other. Plowhorn accepts Thunder as her leader and follows his orders unfailingly both during and outside of battle.

Wu and Wei[]

Plowhorn has been shown to possess a good friendship with her Mist Twister teammate. When they first met in the Crystal Realm, however, they started out as enemies. After being injured by her siblings, Plowhorn was extremely aggressive to all other creatures that came near her, including Wu/Wei and their rider Jun, attacking them when they got to close to her. After she bonded with D'Angelo, Plowhorn's relationship with Wu/Wei significantly improved, with their friendship starting out after the Gembreaker rescued them and their rider from her attacking siblings, saving their lives.

Since then, Plowhorn has been on very good terms with the two-headed dragon. It has also been shown that Jun will occasionally train her and Wu/Wei how to perform various kinds of circus tricks together.

Feathers[]

Plowhorn possesses a very strong and healthy friendship with Feathers. Initially, Feathers was shy around Plowhorn and the other dragons in the club upon first meeting them. After bonding with Alex and joining the Dragon Club herself, she became much more open around the other dragons, including Plowhorn, immediately kicking off a strong friendship between them. Like with Thunder and Wu/Wei, Feathers and Plowhorn often play together when not on missions, and when they are, they work very well together. Due to their respective riders usually being teamed up together, Plowhorn and Feathers often serve as immediate teammates, causing their camaraderie and capacity for teamwork to significantly strengthen.

Webmaster[]

Like with Thunder, Wu/Wei, and Feathers, Plowhorn, for the most part, remains unwelcoming towards Webmaster, the Club's latest dragon. This both due to their dislike of his rider Eugene and their annoyance towards the dragon's occasional mischievous pranks towards them. Though Webmaster is quite affectionate and friendly towards them, Plowhorn and the others are shown to relatively exclude him from their activities and don't generally enjoy his company, much to his sadness. Despite this, he and Plowhorn do care for each other, and work well together during missions. In battle, both will put themselves on the line for each other and have watched each other's backs from time to time.

Shadow[]

Shadow would often hop on Plowhorn's horn when he was playing. She did find him very mischievous, even when he wouldn't stay put. But she still cared about his well-being, as well as his family of Night Lights.

Linda[]

Linda met the dragons in "Deep Freeze" and was shocked by their appearance. She continued to aid Sledkin, but came to respect and like the dragons. In fact, by "Of Gods and Monsters", she wasn't happy with the way Sledkin kept abusing the young Gembreaker and worried for her well-being. She took care of Plowhorn until Sledkin took her to find the Gods Realm. Not wanting to go with Sledkin any longer, she helped the riders locate Sledkin and save Plow. While what happened to Linda is unknown, it's likely she became on good terms with Plowhorn.

Buzzsaw[]

Plowhorn views Buzzsaw as both a threat and enemy due to his unhinged and aggressive nature and need to kill her and her friends.

But after D'Angelo helped Buzzsaw treat an injured Jack, Buzzsaw helped the riders by treating any dragons injured by Jörmungandr while they finished the battle, indicating they are now on good terms with each other.

Wilma Sledkin[]

When D'Angelo and Plowhorn went with Jun to show Sledkin the Hidden World she didn't think much of it however her attitude changed when she wanted to protect two Terrible Terrors from her and after Sledkin almost killing the Riders and the dragons in a cave-in like the other dragons Sledkin is an enemy of Plowhorn.

She abducts her in "Of Gods and Monsters" and forces her to help her find the Gods Realm and the Dragonsite Gem. She even used a stun baton on her if she didn't comply with her plan. This caused Plow to not only hate Sledkin, but also fear her. When Wilma fell to her demise, it's possible Plow could have mourned for her loss, but she was more relieved to be back with her rider.

Appearances[]
