Oaks are trees mentioned briefly in the DreamWorks Dragons Franchise.

Description[]

Oaks (Genus Quercus) are a group of trees and shrubs common throughout the cool to tropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere. The majority of species are found in the Americas and in China. There are a number of species native to Europe however, such as the European Oak (Quercus robur). Downy Oak (Quercus pubescens), and the Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea).

Function[]

There is no function for Oaks mentioned in the DreamWorks Dragons Franchise. Oaks do have many purposes in real life, including as food (acorns) for both human and animal, and as a valuable wood for manufacture. The oak also plays a significant role in many cultures and mythologies, such as being the tree representing the God of Thunder, Thor, in Norse Mythology, as well as gods in other mythologies.
