Hey, it looks like you are getting all the promo type images from ROB's FB page? Just to let you know, there are still just a few ROB images on the Unused Images page (and probably more once we can get past the first 1000 images). So you might not have to upload the same images. We've placed (or deleted) many, but there's always more :(
Sorry to butt in here, but I figured that this was the best place to mention that all of the ROB FB promo images I found in the unused images are duplicates of other promo images already on this wikia, so they can be deleted. I'm sure more will pop up eventually when we clear out the unused images, but these can be removed.
@Ladybrasa, I think you might not be aware of this, but fortunately, the wiki has a system that identifies duplicate images as you're uploading them, similar to how it happens with identically named images. I had almost uploaded three images that were already on the wiki under a different name and a warning, just like the one in the attached image:
Oh I am very aware of it, especially since I’ve caught myself uploading the same image I just uploaded :/ However even the slightest difference won’t be picked up on. File type, size, cropping, and so on. If someone uploaded the exact same image from FB, then yes, but what if they got it from another social media platform? Or saved it in a different file type? Again, there aren’t that many at the moment. Just thought it might be helpful.
What I’ve found ... maybe? Oldest ones (for anything) might be fine. Or not. Quality might not be as good, smaller size, or if there already is something duplicated and quality is pretty much the same, whichever is the jpg maybe should get precidence. Unused images are really quite a chore, unfortunately.
I have edited the Divewing page to indicate that their possession of gills is, at this point, only speculation. Other than that, we only see the info that you see and have no idea if these possible gills move or have any function at all.
Zamyafield1028 has a habit of copy and pasting facts from one wiki onto another on both wikis. As their updates on the Stoick and Valka's Relationship were originally from the shipping wiki and the first version of the Shipping wiki's Toothless x Light Fury ship page by Zamyafield1028were taken from this wiki, until I took it down replayed it with my own words!
You and the other admins might want to keep a close eye on Zamyafield1028's edits in the future.
Apologies for butting in, but looking at the images from Homecoming and Snoggletog Log, I think you've confused Mistletoe for Holly plants. Mistletoe has white berries and small roundish leaves. Holly has red berries and glossy prickly leaves. Mistletoe isn't necessarily pretty, and isn't used as decoration like Holly is. Both are popular at Christmas time. But they're completely different plants.
Sorry, I’m butting in, too. Regardless of mistletoe or holly, we don’t need like 96 images of the hearth from Snoggletog Log to show the plant trim. Like maybe 3 would suffice since it’s the exact same thing in every image.
Going off on a tangent - is that mistletoe for Wedding-cup’s head wreath? It would make sense since several ancient cultures saw mistletoes as symbolic of male virility.
And Tauriel- wedding-Astrid’s head wreath - those look like ROB’s “Freya’s Flowers”. That would make sense since Freyas flowers were introduced after HTTYD3 and Freya represents love and such. What do you think?
You know what... I think that is mistletoe on Hiccup's head during the wedding! And yeah, it would make perfect sense! We don't actually have confirmation of that, but we can recognise holly without confirmation so I don't see why we can't say that Hiccup's wedding crown is made from mistletoe.
As I'm not familiar with the games, I have no input on Freya's flowers, but if they look similar enough I'd say go ahead and include that too.
I think that the resemblance between Astrid's flowers and Freya's Flowers is a mere coincidence. There are many flowers in the franchise that look nearly identical (e.g. Bitterweed and Oleanders), yet they are different species. I'm not cutting out the possibility that they are the same plant, I'm just saying that we can only speculate whether or not it is the same plant based solely on the appearance.
The "oleanders" are definitely recycled animation, but yeah, the Franchise is notorious (at least in the TV shows) of recycling things. However, Freya's Flowers are different and to my knowledge, do not resemble any other flower in the Franchise. Also, I just realized the ROB image is even arranged in a circlet!
This may just be my nitpicking, but Freya's flowers have six petals, whereas Astrid's flowers have five petals. Anyway, we might just as well put both of them together, since there's a highly chance that the plants won't appear anywhere else in the franchise.
Hi, I think the titan wing Hideous Zippleback from rise of berk is non-canon, because it looks nothing like the one in the series. Some titan wings in sod look nothing in rise of berk. In rise of berk, only the monstrous nightmare, singetail and dramillion are canon. The titan wing slitherwing is most likely non-canon, because it is not a snake, but it has a cobra hood. The eggs in rise of berk are also non-canon, because they look nothing like the ones in the series.
From what we have seen, "canon" Titan Wings are just bigger versions of the specific dragons, without significant changes, like color, horns, spikes or anything, so in a way, none of the game Titan are canon. Remember, they are just old dragons, not super-evolved Pokemons.
My 2 cents as usual - there was actually a Titan wing Zippleback in one of the later RTTE episodes. Whatever the one is with the Changewing “sheds” and Gruffnut.
As far as canonicity, that depends on your personal definition and this Wiki does not take a stance on that, just points out and provides all information possible on Dreamworks Dragons properties. Some people view the games as canon, some do not. Some view them on a tiered “scale” of sorts.
I thought that the only canon games were RoB, SoD, Titan Uprising and Dawn of New Riders, as they were made in collaboration with DreamWorks. The others, such as Tap Dragon Drop or Dragonberry Dash, are made separately from DreamWorks, so they are kind of non-canon.
All up to you what you think :) ALL games are (or were) sanctioned by DW and needed content approval. So some people (like me!) feel anything that DW has authorized are canon.
Definitely there are levels though, IMO. I also feel like (no verification) that those “small” games and the early ones like How to Train Your Dragon (game) weren’t regulated by DW like the current “big” games are like SOD, TU, and ROB.
