  • I had asked Hiccstrid if we should add Rescue Rider Dragons to such pages as Dragon Eggs, Baby Dragons, etc. He suggested I ask the other staff. What do you think? Thanks!

      Loading editor
    • I think I will lean toward Dublyn's idea of creating a tabber to separate Rescue Riders material from the main franchise.

    • I mentally ran into a stumbling block concerning switching over "Dragon Eggs" to a tabber of HTTYD and Rescue Riders. Please refer to the Post on Dub's wall. Thanks!

  • It looks like you idicated that you translated the Personality sections for the Night Light Characters from the Polish page? Is it word for word or did you rephrase it? I am just asking because it has come up elsewhere about 'copy/pasting' written sections from other Wikis (though translated bits might be a little different). basically, it appears that there is no official Wikia rule against 'copy/pasting' from other Wikis or vice-versa, but is seems to be generally frowned upon and not good practice to take others' work for our own, at least without referencing or quoting it. There has been incidences of a user copy/pasting back and forth between this and another Wiki and other users were not happy with this. So I guess is the translated text in your own words or paraphrased or word-for-word? If the latter we should reword it or reference it (but that would be a little weird, I think). Hope this makes sense! Thanks!

  • Hey Cloda, we'd appreciate any input you might have on the idea pitched to HiccstridFan a few days ago. You can find the discussion here.

    Thanks!

  • Hi :) I've noticed, that you added genders of Night Light hatchlings on their page. I'd wanted to do the same thing earlier, but there was and still is a problem. Because of the <format>{{#switch}}</format> in the Character Infobox template (which automatically adds proper category), there can be written only one word – "male" or "female". When there are both of them, nothing shows up in the infobox. The same problem is in the article about Heather's Adoptive Parents. Moreover, users who use this template on their personal pages, automatically add them to the category "males" or "females", which contain only "members of the franchise and book series". (Here's an example -> click!)

Can you do anything with it? Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Othiel,

Thanks for reporting this issue. I've made some improvements to the template, so it should serve its purpose now; I have not solved the latter problem, however. I will see what I can do about this once I get on a computer.

  • Hey, I just realized that some of the TU statistic boxes have "unspecified" for several fields. This is fine; I'm guessing you don't have those dragons at the time you created the pages. I don't mind entering the info as I come across it, but could you please add the "Expansion needed" template to the In-Game Statistics section when creating the pages? That way I'll realize some things still need to be added (or anyone else) and won't get overlooked.

    Thanks :)

    • I apologize for the inconvenient negligence. (I was planning to add the information that was lacking, but I've become more and more involved in real life.) Anyway, I will make sure I do it in the future. Thanks for the reminder!

  • What can I do to please you when I want to put images for the HTTYD chapters? The requests not the Manual of Style like about naming.

  • What is the problem with the images and please don't start with the word excessive beacause most of the it's just a issue to keep handling some content. And please let other users to fill in images because I'm pretty sure a hand of help it's not so bad . So to finish what's the matter that you suddenly delete all from night lights because they don't have enough images from movie.

    • The problem is your continual negligence of the Manual of Style, Youngtrainer.

Such a large number of screenshots from a 15-second scene is unnecessary, even if the intention is to flesh out galleries. Furthermore, taking a screenshot from every frame isn't allowed since it hurts the look of galleries, as was the previous case with Gallery: Krogan's Singetail. I don't condone what you did, but I understand it. You might do this because you're trying to give more credit to these characters in appearance, but there's nothing we can do about a character appearing just momentarily—that's on the creators. Apart from this habit, you often tend to leave a well-conditioned gallery in a poor, disorganized state, because you don't place your uploads in the order in which they occurred. By also leaving your files uncategorized, you make it harder for the rest of us to catch up and get all the pictures sorted and categorized.

Yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with people helping out and filling in "gaps", but it is certainly wrong to be part of a community and constantly toss the rules aside despite being reminded and warned on a number of occasions over the past year or so. You are constantly treated with such actions, not because we are against you, but because we are trying to inculcate in you a sense of responsibility and respect for the rules, the likes of which are crucial to your cooperation in our aim to keep the wiki as clean, consistent, and structured as possible.

I hope this makes sense for you.

    • And for Httyd hidden world images I see that you fill the important moments but Others can not put because is improved.... A little bit yes but don't you want to fill some moments with more images?

  • Hi Clodaghelm :)

I came here with a little request. Could you have a look at the images recently uploaded by this user? 'Cause to my eye they are a bit low-quality and they have black bars (in some cases not only above and below the picture, but all around it!). But I'm not an expert, so please, could you just have a look and take care of it at a pinch?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Othiel,

Yes, those uploads do not conform to the Manual of Style. I apologize for not getting back to you earlier, but it seems like Dublyn has taken care of the issue - thank you both!

    • Oh, that's OK. I guess we're simply in different time zones ;)

And Dublyn, if you read this, thank you :)

  • Hey, Clodaghelm :) I've just come here to tell you, that you don't need to upload new versions of images from HTTYD:Homecoming, 'cause those sent by me are taken from the DreamWorks site's source code.

    Kind regards.

      Loading editor
    • Oh, really? In that case, I apologize for the duplicated edits since I got my high res versions from the source code as well.

        Loading editor
    • Oh, that's OK. Just wanted to let you know, to help avoid doing duplicated edits there's no need for :)
