|“||The dragon Furious called his second-in-command to him, a luminously beautiful Sea-Dragon slightly smaller than himself, known as Luna. She was so-called because she glowed with light like the moon. She lit up the dark storm clouds all around, and waves of heat pulsed out of her so that the rain smoked and hissed when it landed on her shining body.||”|
|— How to Fight a Dragon's Fury|
Luna is a female Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus who appears in How to Fight a Dragon's Fury. She was Furious's second in command, but when he went away, he left Luna in charge. It is under her reign that the dragons disappear.
In book 12, How to Fight a Dragon's Fury, Luna is ordered by Furious, the leader of the dragon rebellion, to "Send your best and most ruthless dragons through Hero's Gap to look for the boy (Hiccup)" She is also told not to go herself, as "it is harder to harden your heart than you think. Particularly against well-meaning humans like Hiccup."
Luna is a blinding shining white and in the books, her shine is so bright that it gives off heat. She has a crown of white spikes on top of her head and behind it as well. She is said to be only slightly smaller than the dragon Furious. She is very draconian in her looks and not at all wyvern. She has a long white tail and two wings in a draconian fashion. She is likely incredibly strong.

Abilities and Skills
Luna, as a Seadragonus Giganticus Maximus, should have at least the basic powers of others if her species such as incredible strength, enormous, blazing blasts of fire, the ability to swim, use telepathy, and breath underwater. The book does not mention any powers Luna might have as an individual member of her species such as lasers or lightning.
Luna is second-in-command to Furious and she is obviously highly trusted by him to have such a position. Furious also knows Luna well enough to warn her that Hiccup is hard to kill, being as well mannered as Hiccup is to dragons.
