The Lobster Claw Necklace is an object that first appeared in the book, How to Train Your Dragon.
History[]
The Lobster Claw Necklace was given to Alvin the Treacherous, but he didn't know it was that important, so he gave it to his wife, Termagant. As she was about to vanish her son, Fishlegs, she still loved him and gave him her necklace. The reason she banished him is because there is a rule, "Only the strong Can Belong." She requested her dragon, Arrogance, Innocence, and Patience to look after him, but they lost him.
Throughout the earlier books, Fishlegs wears that necklace and was never shown to remove it, since he grew up wearing it.
How to Steal a Dragon's Sword[]
When Hiccup was announced to be the next king, Snotface Snotlout threw a rock on Hiccup's helmet and revealed a Slavemark. Everybody looked down on Hiccup because of that, but Fishlegs was one of the few exceptions. He mentioned that Hiccup can be a king with or without the Slavemark. he gave him his Lobster Claw necklace.
How to Seize a Dragon's Jewel[]
When Arrogance, Innocence, and Patience almost attacked Hiccup, they stopped when they see the necklace, because they thought he was Fishlegs, but Hiccup told them that he is not Fishlegs, but Fishlegs is his friend, so they told him a story about the necklace.
How to Fight a Dragon's Fury[]
When Furious mentioned to Hiccup that he has all of the King's Lost Things, he also mentioned that necklace, because the real Dragon Jewel is inside.
