The Kingdom of the Wilderwest is the Kingdom that was originally founded by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock I, who became its first King. Eventually the Kingdom fell after thriving for a millennium, after a sequence of events that had their roots in the Kings' cruelty toward dragons. The Kingdom was eventually re-founded by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, who became the first King in one-hundred years.

Founding[]
Around one-thousand years before the life of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, a great war between humankind and dragonkind was being fought. During this period, a small boy around eight or nine years old helped the injured Wodensfang out of a tree, and healed him with herbs. Wodensfang has been sent by the leader of the Dragon Army, Merciless to kill the boy who was named Hiccup Horrendous Haddock I, after he had foreseen the future that he was to be killed by a boy named Hiccup. Wodensfang, who was shocked by the fact that a human would help him, was grateful for Hiccup saving his life, and did not kill Hiccup.
After Wodensfag was back to health, he flew off, but kept returning to the island that Hiccup lived on. During these visits, Hiccup and Wodensfang grew closer and closer. Hiccup even taught Wodensfang the Viking language, Norse, and Wodensfang taught Hiccup the language of the dragons, Dragonese. Wodensfang then risked everything when he stole the Dragonsword and gave it to Hiccup. The sword that housed the Dragon Jewel inside its pommel. The Dragon Jewel had the power to send dragonkind into extinction forever. Hiccup vowed no never use the Jewel's power for evil. Merciless then flew to Hiccup's island to assassinate the boy himself, however, when he got there Hiccups stood on top of a roof, and held the Dragon Jewel up to Merciless and threatening to use the Jewel's power, banished the mighty Sea-dragon from the Archipelago forever. Afterwards, once again swore to never use the Jewel's power for evil, and put a mark that was made out of the combined blood of himself and Wodensfang upon his forehead to make good on his promise. Hiccup then united all the tribes of the Archipelago together as the Kingdom of the Wilderwest, becoming its first king.
