House Thorston, also known as the Thorston family, Nut family ("Edge of Disaster, Part 2"), or simply the Thorstons, are a family of Vikings that belong to the Hooligan tribe.
History[]
At some point prior to the first film, Magmar Thorston had claimed Dragon's Edge for his family ("Reign of Fireworms").
It is revealed that every member of House Thorston must take the Thorston Induction Trials in order to become an official member of the family ("A Gruff Separation"). These trials are apparently quite rare events, since Thorstons rarely live to see their nineteenth birthday (the age at which they are eligible to take the trials) according to Tuffnut.

- The family crest's colors could be black and yellow as seen during the first Dragon Races in their face paint (Dawn of the Dragon Racers).
- Apart from clothing as well hairstyle and colour, every Thorston around the age of 17-19 looks the exact same and even sounds the same.
- Members of the family are apparently known for their thicker than average skulls, to the point where Ruffnut claimed that warriors used to wear Thorston skulls as helmets.
