Hellsbells is a minor character that first appeared in the book, How to Betray a Dragon's Hero.
Biography[]
Accidental Egg Stealing[]
As punishment for not being invited to the Inter-Tribe Summer-tide Friendly Bury the Hatchet Games, Very-Vicious the Visithug gave Hiccup the task to train Hellsbells, as opposed to cutting off Stoick's head. Hiccup tried to train the Hogfly in the days leading up to the games, but all he managed to do was teach it how to fetch.
During the games, in an attempt to sabotage Hiccup, Snotlout threw an apple in the Gorge of the Thunderbolt of Thor and told the Hogfly to fetch. The dragon happily did so, unaware of the dangerous Throatgogglers living in the gorge. He flew around the sleeping dragons, licking one of them, until a Throatgoggler caught him. The Hogfly kissed the dragon's snout, who, shocked by the reaction, let go of the small dragon. Still thinking it was fun and games, Hellsbells grabbed a Throatgoggler egg from under its mother, mistaking it for the apple. The mother flew after the Hogfly, who managed to reunite with Hiccup and the two of them retreated from the gorge, with Hellsbells still holding the egg in his mouth.
Once on Berk, Very-Vicious demanded a demonstration of how Hellsbells was trained. Using the Throatgoggler egg, Hiccup tricked Very-Vicious, as all of his hunting dragons refused to fetch it, while Hellsbells did so happily. The Visithug considered the deal fulfilled, and, grabbing Hellsbells, left Berk on his riding dragon.
How to Betray a Dragon's Hero[]
When Hiccup saw Snotlout on the chunk of ice floating on the river, there is a Hogfly beside Snotlout. Hiccup saved Snotlout and made friends with the Hogfly. Hiccup later used him to find the King's Lost Things, which includes Toothless.
How to Fight a Dragon's Fury[]
Hogfly helped Hiccup escaped the Sandsharks, then later go to the Island of Tomorrow and Hogfly got reunited with his owner, Very-Vicious the Visithug, who is delighted to discover his pet was alike.
Physical Description[]
He is a very small dragon with big nostrils used for great sense of smell. He can also puff up in order to minimize injuries.
Personality[]
Hellsbells is dumb, so he does not understand what is happening, since he often gets lost in what is happening. This is normal for his species.
