Tom: "I didn't say it before because I didn't want to mess up our friendship or, like, you know, but I like you. Like, like-like you. I have for a while, and-and-and-and I love hanging out with you. You're the coolest person I've ever met, and if you don't feel the same way I understand, and-and that's okay, and I feel really weird now, so--."

Jun: "I like you too, Kullersen. Like-like. You're crazy and full of really bad ideas and some good ones, but it wasn't fair to put saying it first totally on you. I was scared too. And... yeah."

Plot[]

In the Giant Realm, the dragon riders are destroying flags that were setup by Buzzsaw, but can't figure out why he's using them. When D'Angelo suggests exploring the realm further, he asks Tom to join him, but notices that he's gone. Eugene begrudgingly shows them that he's nearby, talking to Jun as usual. Although Tom insists that they are simply distracted, Alex points out that they are more distracted lately, but quickly takes back what she said when she's asked to explain. However, Eugene makes the matter complicated when he pressures Tom to admit that he has a crush on Jun. Tom tries to deny it, but fumbles his speech, and inadvertently offends Jun, causing her to leave with Wu and Wei. Tom and Thunder immediately go after Jun, but unbeknownst to them all, Buzzsaw is nearby, and orders Ford and Winston to capture the other riders, while Buzzsaw goes after Tom, Jun, and their dragons. Unfortunately for Ford and Winston, their Gronckles suddenly disappear.

Tom finds Jun near a giant tree, still upset with him about what he said. As Tom tries to explain himself, Buzzsaw suddenly ambushes them, and stops the kids from getting on their dragons by using Jack to cut them off. But Thunder fires at Jack's back, causing the Timberjack to lift off the ground, then Tom and Jun, and their dragons take shelter in a hole of the giant tree. Buzzsaw tries to follow them inside, but Jack's body can't fit in the hole, and it inadvertently causes boulders on top of the roots to fall, and it completely seals the hole. Inside the giant tree, Tom and Jun discover that the inside of it is a miniature realm inhabited by small Woodchipper dragons. Outside of the tree, Buzzsaw decides to have Jack cut it down in order to force the kids and their dragons to come out. From inside, Tom and Jun know that Buzzsaw is behind the commotion, but the Woodchippers aggressively approach them, thinking that they're the ones causing it.

Meanwhile, as D'Angelo, Alex, and Eugene search for Tom and Jun, Plowhorn senses someone is close by. They find Ford and Winston still searching for their Gronckles, then they capture them for interrogation. When Ford and Winston refuse to talk, Alex threatens to have Feathers eat them; and the two henchmen begin to tell them everything they know.

Back inside the tree, as the dragons try to fend off the Woodchippers, Tom and Jun notice that the small dragons are moving in unison like an insect colony. Thinking that the Woodchippers are colonial dragons, Jun assumes that there might be a queen controlling them, then Tom concludes that if they bond with the queen, she can have her colony help them find a way out. Tom and Jun manage to find the queen, but as Tom tries to bond with her, Jun, still mad at Tom, coldly reminds him to not mess it up. While Tom argues with Jun, the queen suddenly starts to act aggressive, and tries to attack Tom, but Thunder quickly pulls him away. Jun decides that she'll be the one to bond with queen, and at first, the queen seems to take a liking to Jun, which Jun boastfully brags about; but when Tom asks her how she would react if Eugene put her in the same position he was in, Jun grows flusters and fumbles her answer like Tom did. When the kids started arguing again, the queen becomes aggressive again, rejecting Jun's attempts of bonding with her, and calls the other Woodchippers to defend her, forcing Tom and Jun to leave.

Back with the other riders, the interrogation with Ford and Winston is going nowhere due to the two henchmen telling them random personal things they know about Buzzsaw. In addition, Eugene is of no help due to him inquiring about the useless information instead of trying to find out something important.

Tom and Jun find a safe place to hide and try to figure out why the queen refused to bond with either of them, all the while talking about feeling anxious when they were put on the spot. Jun then realizes that the Woodchippers might be picking up on their emotions, and that their anxiety is making them aggressive. Although they knew the solution to their problem, Tom still can't find it in him to tell Jun how he feels, leaving Jun frustrated at him.

Meanwhile, D'Angelo has finally had enough, and orders Ford and Winston to answer about Buzzsaw's flags, and where Tom and Jun are. When they refuse to answer, Alex reveals that she has been recording everything they said with her tablet and threatens to play all the things they said to Buzzsaw. Ford and Winston relent and tells them that Buzzsaw is using the flags to mark his territory and to show that the hidden world is his domain. They also reveal that he went after Tom and Jun.

Thunder tries to encourage Tom to tell Jun how he feels but reveals that he is worried if Jun doesn't feel the same way about him. Nevertheless, Thunder persuades Tom to try. Tom then goes in to talk to Jun but is interrupted when the tree begins falling apart. Seeing that there's no other option, Tom confronts Jun, and finally confesses his feelings for her. And to Tom's amazement, Jun confesses that she feels the same way for him, much to his happiness. During their confession, the Woodchipper colony, along with their queen, sensed that Tom and Jun are finally at peace, and the new couple successfully bond with the queen. With her trust earned, she commands her colony to create a new exit by chewing through the wood. Buzzsaw's victory is short-lived when the kids and their dragons, along with the Woodchipper colony, manage to escape from the tree. Tom then points the queen to Buzzsaw as the one responsible for destroying the colony's tree, so the queen orders her followers to attack him. Buzzsaw, not intimidated by the numerous small dragons, fights back by having Jack blow them away with his wings. Fortunately, D'Angelo, Alex, and Eugene arrive on time to help. And the riders, along with the Woodchippers, outnumber Buzzsaw forcing him to flee, but still vows to get revenge on them. As Buzzsaw retreats, Ford and Winston find him, and tell him what the riders did to them. However, because his henchmen failed him, Buzzsaw punishes them by telling them to find their own way back, but not until they find their dragons. As they still struggle to find their dragons, the two Gronckles suddenly appear near the place where Ford and Winston were standing.

Despite the damage that Buzzsaw caused to the Woodchippers' tree, Tom and Jun assure the queen that the tree will hold, and it will regrow over time. And Eugene informs Tom that they (Alex, specifically) were able to get everything they need to know about Buzzsaw's plan. Tom and Jun happily show their friends that they're finally in a relationship, much to the irritation of Eugene.
