The Gronckle is a stout, heavily armored dragon with a thick hide that serves as natural protection. Its small, fast-beating wings allow it to hover and buzz through the air like a bumblebee. Though slow-moving and easily distracted, it has a powerful attack strategy—swallowing rocks, melting them internally, and firing them out as molten lava projectiles. The Gronckle has a gigantic head, short body and round tail. Its appearance is similar to that of a hippopotamus, a bulldog, and a carpenter bee.

Firepower[]
While most dragons use a flammable gas in order to breathe fire, the Gronckle eats rocks, melting them in its belly and firing them as balls of molten lava. As long as there are edible rocks in the area, the Gronckle will be one of the few to be able to quickly refill its shot limit.
Speed and Agility[]
The Gronckle has relatively small wings that beat fast like a bumblebee or a carpenter bee. It is slow in the air, but it makes up for this with its ability to maneuver. The Gronckle can fly forward, backways, sideways and hover.
Explosive Eggs[]
Once a Gronckle hatches, the egg will explode like a grenade, which can cause destruction.

Loud Sounds[]
If one clatters metallic objects together near a Gronckle, it can momentarily disorient it and even obscure its vision.
Dandelions[]
If dandelions seeds are smelled by the dragon, it causes them to uncontrollably sneeze out fireballs with enough force to blow them backwards for a short distance.
Behavior and Personality[]
The Gronckle is lazy and spends a lot of its time sleeping in communal heaps with other Gronckles. It has been known to fall asleep while flying, waking only when it crashes into the ocean or side of a mountain. Despite its sleeping habits, the Gronckle is one of the toughest dragons in the world.
