Description[]
Foxes (genus Vulpes) are medium-sized mammals belonging to the family Canidae, along dogs and wolves. The red fox (Vulpes Vulpes) is the most common species of fox and the one most people think of when talking about foxes. Their range includes Scandinavia, so Vikings came into contact with them often. They are easily recognisable for their iconic red coat, with a white belly and black tail tips.
They eat almost anything they can find, from small mammals, fish, birds, to occasional plants such as berries.

In the books series, foxes have no known usages.
In real life, foxes are often hunted for their fur. Recently, certain fox species have been slowly domesticated and can be kept as pets.
