How to Train Your Dragon Wiki

The Dreadstrider is a hybrid between a Flightmare and a Speed Stinger that first appeared in the game, School of Dragons.

Official Description[]

As we all know, this is the eerie mystery that several Vikings wanted to learn more about. Indeed, a new dragon species was found when Hiccup and Toothless went out exploring. Same as the Skrillknapper, this hybrid dragon possesses the traits of two separate dragons, both the Flightmare and the Speed Stinger.

Hiccup was afraid to share the news because he didn’t know why these dragons were suddenly appearing, but he began training them in hopes of learning more about hybrids. Combined from both a mystery and a sharp class, this dragon reveals it is brimming with strength, speed, and power. With high speeds that can outrun and dodge any attack to having a glowing body that blinds every prey, these dragons are powerful beyond belief.

Physical Appearance[]

Egg[]

SOD-Dreadstrider-Egg

A Dreadstrider egg is oval, with patterns reminiscent of a snail's shell, much like a Speed Stinger egg. It is light blue in color, just like a Flightmare egg.

Hatchling to Adult[]

The Dreadstrider's overall body shape resembles that of a Speed Stinger. However, they have a primary set of wings most similar to that of a Flightmare, with a smaller secondary set similar to the Speed Stinger's. They have further physical characteristics of the Flightmare, most notably the eerie glow, the spikes on its back and the barbels under its chin. As a hybrid, this dragon's scales are a mix between its parental species.

Abilities[]

Firepower[]

Just like its Flightmare parent, the Dreadstrider is capable of producing blue mist, which it can shoot at its targets in the form of small balls that explode on impact.

Glowing Body[]

Just like its Flightmare parent, the Dreadstrider’s body can emit a bright glow that can temporarily disorientate the vision of anyone who looks directly at it.

Speed and Agility[]

Just like its Speed Stinger parent, the Dreadstrider possesses a high level of speed and agility on land and in the air.

Behavior and Personality[]

The Dreadstrider's behavior falls somewhere in between that of each parent. It appears to be very hostile towards other Speed Stingers, despite the fact that they are one of its parent species.
