Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

Eret's swords are weapon used by Eret in the DreamWorks Dragons Franchise.

History[]

How to Train Your Dragon 2[]

Eret first used one of his swords while confronting Hiccup and Astrid at his fort, using them to gesture with and threaten the two. As he bowed to them, mockingly introducing himself, Eret slipped a hand behind his back and drew out one of his swords, as seen in the picture to the right. However, before he could use them, Toothless destroyed the fort, and the two Riders made their escape.

Later, when Hiccup and Astrid arrive on Eret's Ship, he points one of his swords at them, thinking he will capture them. Much to his surprise, Hiccup surrenders, so Eret doesn't need to use his sword, again.

At Drago's location, when the riders are found by Drago's men, Eret takes both his swords out to defend himself. However, due to being outnumbered, the riders surrender. While on Drago's ship one of his men took Eret's swords as he was giving the dragons to him.

However later on the movie Eret was seen wearing his swords again. He presumably got his swords after battling some of Drago's men from execting him and the Dragon Riders.

Dragonvine[]

Eret's twin swords are seen in the graphic novel, Dragonvine, where he uses them like machetes to chop through the deadly dragonvines on Dragonvine Island.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World[]

Eret is seen with his swords again in the third film, but he doesn't use them much.

Physical Appearance[]

Eret's swords are fairly small short swords, and the two differ slightly in appearance. One of them is a bit round at the middle, but sharp at blade. The other one looks like normal sword, sharpened to a fine point. They are both steel in coloration, and have short hilts and crossguards.

Trivia[]

  • The curbed sword resembles Sting, the sword Bilbo uses in The Hobbit films and Frodo in The Lord of the Rings films, all which are part of the Middle Earth franchise.
