Dragons: Race to the Edge Interactive Map

Geography

Dragon Hunter Island is fairly large, with beaches, coastline on which ships can be moored, sparsely forested areas, cliffs, and a central pit that appears like a quarry and man-made. Ribbed dragon spines serve as ladders between levels. Dragon-proof metal cages litter the island where dragons are kept to be sold or slaughtered. There is also a network of caverns serving as additional storage and living space.  In the general vicinity of the island, there is Caldera Cay and ironically Vanaheim.

Appearances

Dragons: Race to the Edge, Season 2

The Chief of the Dragon Hunters, Viggo Grimborn, has a base on this island. In "Maces and Talons, Part 1", Ryker brings Dagur, and his sister Heather to the island to meet with Viggo. After Heather is revealed to be a spy in "Maces and Talons, Part 2", the Dragon Riders head for the island to rescue Heather, with Viggo having set up challenges for them to get through. Heather was about to be executed for treason, but a reformed Dagur rescues her and Windshear.

Dragons: Race to the Edge, Season 3

In "Between a Rock and a Hard Place", Viggo and his hunters then attempt to make a dragon-proof fortress out of marble on the island. However, the Dragon Riders were able use a pair of captive Catastrophic Quakens to demolish the fortress.

Dragons: Race to the Edge, Season 4

In "Twintuition, it is revealed that the Dragon Hunters are working on a venture called Project Shellfire, which allows them to control a Shellfire dragon and arm it with a dragon-proof ship to attack the Dragon Riders and their allies.

In "Shell Shocked, Part 1", Ryker leads a coup against Viggo and ransacks the entire island before the Dragon Riders can enter the fray.

Trivia

  • This island is never referred to as "Dragon Hunter Island" in the Dragons: Race to the Edge episodes. Instead it is simply referred to as 'Viggo's Base'.
