— Jun stating the mission of the Dragon Club |
Dragon Club is a modern-day organization of Dragon Riders operating in the area around the Kullersen Fissure. The Club was created by the four youths, Tom Kullersen, D'Angelo Baker, Jun Wong, and Alex Gonzalez, and four dragons, Thunder, Wu and Wei, Plowhorn, and Feathers, to guard the secret existence of Dragons and the Hidden World. Soon, they gained a new youth member: Eugene Wong, and a new dragon member: Webmaster.
After the events of Ragnarok: Part 2, with the World Serpent locked back up, Thunder becoming King of the Nine Realms, ICARIS shut down permanently and Thunder, Wu and Wei, Feathers, Webmaster and Plowhorn returning to the Hidden World, knowing the world can't be trusted to know about the dragons existence, the Dragon Club dissolved. But they promised to keep the secret and stay in contact with each other even so.
History[]
Dragons: The Nine Realms[]
New Place, New Friends[]
When Tom and Jun find an injured Gembreaker and decide to help her, they run into D'Angelo who asks the two what they are doing, and Jun ends up saying Dragon Club. They made it official, even though Tom wanted to keep the group as a duo as he was worried that D'Angelo would end up telling his parents about the dragons. Jun manages to convince Tom to let him in as he has gone through the training to help injured animals, making him their best choice in helping the Gembreaker. On the way to where the two have hidden their dragons, Thunder and Wu and Wei, Tom tells D'Angelo that the number one rule about Dragon Club is that they don't talk about it.
Then, after bringing D'Angelo to the hidden world, they manage to find the injured Gembreaker and with a little help, they heal her and drove the other Gembreakers that harmed her in the first place away. Afterwards, D'Angelo bonded with the female dragon affectionately, giving her the name Plowhorn and they joined the club.
The next day, while flying through the fissure, the group noticed Thunder's fascination with the thunderclouds above, but when the workers at ICARIS were getting close to discovering the dragons, the club thought it was best to work on hiding techniques. However, their training was interrupted when they heard Alex outside of the cave and sees the group's dragons, which makes her freak out. To make matters more interesting, a Featherhide dragon followed them home and intended to bond with Alex to which she was fascinated by the creature. But Tom and the others soon realized that all their dragons followed them home as well. Aware that they had to sneak them back, they put their cloaking techniques to work and nearly got out of the camp, but the Featherhide dragon was curious about Alex's mothers and tried to get near them. Despite Jun's suggestion to help, Tom trusted Alex to handle things. Seeing how well Alex and the dragon got along, the others welcomed them into the club and Alex named her dragon Feathers. Aware that they were making quite a family, Tom noticed that what Thunder was looking for was his dragon family and he assured him they'd find them.
The team's biggest mission yet came with the earthquakes getting worse. Tom's mom Olivia suggested using explosives to stabilize the area but realizing that it would endanger the dragons, the club sent them back to the Hidden World. But just after doing so, they discovered the true reason for the quakes. They were caused by a dangerous Fault Ripper dragon. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the group considered revealing their secret to the adults. On the other hand, Tom and the group found a way to save the parents and keep the secret after fighting off and driving the dragon away. The team finally made the area their home with them calling the cave their Dragon's Lair, placing their hand-prints on the stone with Thunder following suit marking the stone with the strike class dragon symbol, amazing the group, especially Tom. Upon returning home, he stared in awe that the symbol is the same one on his helmet making him aware that his Viking ancestors lived with dragons.
Secrets Revealed[]
As the riders continue their adventures, the group discovers new dragons along the way, while Thunder and Tom also explore their pasts. Noticing the similar mark on his helmet being the same one Thunder created, Tom felt a strange connection with dragons and their home world to the point where he kept it hidden from the others. Until after fighting a forest fire, with the help of a pod of giant Flood Fangs, he included Jun in with his secret but soon the others were included in too, when the group went looking for Thunder diving deeper into the Hidden World and coming across new caverns. Managing to find him, the group discovers that the Night Light left for personal reasons, and he came across the dragon that drove Thunder to be separate from his family, a Titan Wing Skrill. After a fierce electrical battle, Tom and Thunder defeat the dragon. Even more surprising, the fight opened a new cavern with the team discovering a spearhead with the same symbol as Tom's helmet making the group aware they weren't the only ones who made it down here with new adventures on the horizon.
The Fire Realm and a New Member[]
Due to its high temperatures, the dragon club gain new fire suits and as their adventures continue into the Fire Realm. The group come across old and new dragons alike, but so do their troubles. At first Jun's brother, Eugene, tries to expose the group's secret and then blackmails his way into the group, so they begrudgingly put him under trial to bond with a dragon. During said trial, they discover that the dragons from the Fire Realm started to invade the Crystal Realm, starting with Flame Thrower dragons driving other dragons away and lava pouring in, but thanks to Eugene and his new dragon Webmaster, they sealed up the hole, but the fight was far from over. As it began to heat up, they find out the Flame Thrower dragons were scouts for an even bigger dragon, the alpha Sky Torcher. Needing to fight fire with fire, Tom, who still continues to have nightmares about their previous encounter with the Fault Ripper, had to face his demons while the others hold back the fire dragons. He and Jun venture to the bottom of the fissure to find the giant dragon. Exploring the bottom, the pair discover glowing plants and that the Fault Ripper is alive. But Tom sees that the giant dragon is afraid of him. Fully understanding, he repented his actions against the dragon and convinced it to drive the fire dragons away and drain the lava from the Crystal Realm. With its burrowing abilities, the group discovered that the Fault Ripper dragon opened up another chamber that contained a mysterious canister that had the same symbol as Tom's Viking Helmet and the Viking Spearhead bringing them one step closer.
The Ice Realm and Thunder's Family Reunion[]
Tom's puzzle canister wasn't the only mystery that the club had discovered as they ventured deeper into the Hidden World. They found a realm of ice, but to the group's shock, someone else from the surface had found it first and Tom and Alex come across Buzzsaw. When they meet, he pretends to be an injured hiker named Keith, but they soon discover that he's really a logger who was on a mad hunt for Thunder. Even though the riders drove him off, they realized the threat he posed by being down there. As they explored the Ice Realm more, they came across new dragons and more amazing discoveries. By using his Viking helmet, Tom opened the canister to discover a book inside that had the same symbol as his helmet. Upon examining it, the club discovered that the book was written by former Vikings that explored the Hidden World before they did. While in their search for Buzzsaw, the club came across a baby dragon but no ordinary one. This one was actually Thunder's little brother Shadow. By following the baby dragon, the group discovered two more realms: the Bio Realm near the bottom of the fissure but it was riddled with traps and they easily understood that they were meant to keep people out. Making their way through, the team discovers the new realm the traps were guarding: Kings Realm and it was there that Thunder's family were hiding. While finally reunited, Tom understands that it was time to part ways with his human friends, with the insistence of the Elder.
But their separation didn't last long when Shadow followed them, asking for their help. Returning to the Kings Realm, the club finds the place covered in ice and the Night Lights gone. To their relief, the dragons were safe and sound in the Elder's cave as well as discover that the old dragon's cave was just like the club's dragon lair, where they find an old cave painting of a Viking family with a dragon. Upon using the book, Tom discovered that the painting of the Viking was the same one in the book. And yet, they were going to see why Shadow called them back. Angry, the Elder showed the club a tooth of the dragon that attacked them, and soon, they got an up close and personal look themselves as they were attacked by two vicious Snow Wraiths. That's when Tom discovered why the Elder was angry, as the two dragons must have followed them to the Kings Realm. Knowing they needed to fix their mistake, Tom was determined to drive the snow dragons out and save the Night Lights. Understanding the bond between Tom and Thunder, the Elder accepted his help and together, they drive the Snow Wraiths away, and for admiring his bravery and a sign of trust, the Elder allowed Tom and Thunder to stay together and yet the club makes their way home to run into Olivia, making her aware that dragons exist.
The Nature Realm and Revealing the Secret[]
The adventures never end, at the sight of Thunder; Olivia was afraid of him and at the fact that dragons were real but more so, she was hurt that her son was keeping a secret this big from her. So Tom was put on probation, and while the other riders continued to look for Buzzsaw, they end up his prisoners. Seeing the seriousness, Thunder ventured to the surface to get his rider. Meanwhile the group had seen Buzzsaw make his home in the Ice Realm, capturing more dragons, including the Flame Throwers. Knowing that their boss wasn't far behind, D'Angelo and others tried to convince him to let them go but they had no luck. Tom had no better luck. Despite explaining the secrets to his mom, she refused to move. However, upon discovering why her son had hidden the secret in the first place, Thunder showing that he cared about his well-being too, and mentioning about trust if not given the chance to earn it, Tom was free to go, and like his team, came across Buzzsaw but didn't have time to deal with him as the Sky Torcher had returned. Knowing the dire situation, he tried to convince the mad logger to work with them, but he fled in terror.
However, they discovered that this encounter was different from before, noticing that the Flame Throwers didn't fire at them, ever since they got here. Tom realized that the Sky Torcher was here to rescue his pack-mates. The club frees the Flame Throwers and the group of fire dragons leave in peace, showing the club an entrance to a new realm - the Nature Realm. With Olivia in on the secret, she begins to see the Hidden World for herself, amazed at the sights and the dragons, but discovered the dangers as well; and yet upon seeing the deep bond and respect the club has for each of their dragons and their world, she was impressed and allowed them to continue their exploration of the Hidden World. However, the club realized they couldn't keep the secret forever as she also mentioned that the other parents needed to know about it. While exploring deeper into the Nature Realm, Tom and the gang had discovered a great tree marked with the name Haddock. It was then that the boy learned from Olivia that Haddock is their family name, being aware of the author of the book. Tom finally realized that he comes from a family of dragon riders which inspired him to know more.
With humans coming closer to the Hidden World, the club found it harder to keep it secret, especially with Wilma Sledkin on the prowl. And mother nature couldn't agree more, as a deep-freeze consumed Rakke Town, knowing that everyone needed the help of the club's dragons to survive everything was running smoothly, until Sledkin shot Thunder with a tranquilizer, causing the club to get in trouble. Soon, Tom began to wonder if his mother was right about letting the secret out and to the others; he explained why he was so adamant on keeping the secret was because he feared he couldn't live up to the status of his great ancestor. But he was comforted by his friends that he didn't have to do it alone, as they remind him that he brought them to get along with the dragons already. And soon, they were given a chance through a daring rescue when the helicopter malfunctioned and Olivia and Phil almost fell down the Fissure to their demise. The club saved them and then introduced Rakke Town to the dragons, explaining how great, loyal and protective they can be if shown respect, but realized they have their work cut out for them.

The God's Realm, the Final Battle, and Goodbye to the Dragons[]
In Ragnarok: Part 1 and Part 2, the final battle with the World Serpent came to a head when he attacked the King's Realms and injured Thunder's family. D'Angelo treated them while Tom decided to set a trap for the dragon using the Night Light's cave however, it was a huge trick as the World Serpent attacked the God's Realm to take out the Gem Breaker but Tom and Thunder intervened and drove it off for a bit. Tom was dejected as he continuously failed to stop the World Serpent from destroying the Hidden World Realms before Jun told him to stop trying to be like his ancestor and be like himself, encouraging him to fight on.
In the final battle in the Nature Realm, the Elder Night Light joined the fight, revealing his Alpha Mode as the other Riders brought forth wild dragons to help them. However, the Elder was struck by the World Serpent's fiery breath and was near death. In his final moments, he passed on his Alpha Mode and Title to Thunder before he passed away making Thunder the new King of the Nine Realms.
When the World Serpent reached ICARIS and attacked viciously, knocking the Riders out of the sky, Tom and Thunder appeared with the Sky Torcher and Fault Ripper. Feathers, Plowhorn, Webmaster, Wu and Wei flew up to the new King of the Realms and Thunder had the Sky Torcher and Fault Ripper breathed their fire at it before they backed off and the others attacked. Tom and Thunder flew in and delivered the final blow with Thunder's empowered lighting attack and struck the World Serpent, breaking his teeth and it collapsed to the ground defeated before it was mentioned the Riders dragged it back to the cage where it was locked away again.
With the Hidden World now safe, Sledkin gone forever and Buzzsaw reformed, Thunder and the others dragons knew it was time for them to part with their human friends and riders, much to their sadness but Alex and the others knew the modern world, like the Viking world cannot be trusted to know about them and coexist peacefully with them with the evidence being Sledkin and Buzzsaw's actions nearly destroying the Hidden World in the process. With much sadness, the dragons all parted ways with their riders before the riders themselves left ICARIS which was shut down permanently. But Alex reveals that she created a virtual meeting screen with her tablet so they could all keep in touch and dubs it "The Tenth Realm".

Trivia[]
- Like the first dragon riders of Berk, the group is of young teenagers that befriend and protect dragons, while the lead dragon rider rides a type of fury dragon.*It is possible that in the season 1 finale that the Night Fury crest of the Strike Class is now the symbol of the Dragon Club.
- As of Season 3, Tom uses this crest on his Fire Suit, whereas Jun, D'Angelo, and Alex each make their own crests based on their own dragons.
- By the episode "Magma Breather", the Dragon Club have obtained saddles for their dragons. However, how they were constructed was not presented in the series.
- It was confirmed by John Tellegen that the saddles were in fact constructed by Alex, just like the Club's Fire Suits.[1]
- In "The Night Lights, Part 2", Olivia Kullersen becomes the first ICARIS adult to know about Dragon Club's true nature.
- As of "Deep Freeze", all other adults know as well.
- Even after the group officially disbands after ICARIS closes down, the riders all still keep in touch, via a virtual meeting to which Alex names "The Tenth Realm", while their dragons also keep in touch with each other as well.
- Thunder is the only dragon of the group who's species were introduced before the show was made.
