Defender Dragons, formerly known as Battle Dragons, are a group of dragons available in the game, Dragons: Rise of Berk. They can be obtained through collections that always involve collecting gears after winning a Fleet Mode battle. They will then be released from one of Drago's traps. These dragons fight better than others of the same species but have less good fish and wood collection stats.

These dragons have been suited in metallic armor by Drago Bludvist and Eret, Son of Eret to build Drago's dragon army and enhance their performance in battle. At the end of the second film, these dragons are rescued and inhabit Berk.

They briefly appear again in the graphic novel, The Serpent's Heir, as the Hooligans continue to remove the armor from Drago's Dragon Army members. Bonesnarl, however, did not want his helmet removed.

List of Defender Dragons[]

Boneknapper[]

Changewing[]

Deadly Nadder[]

Deathgripper[]

Sightings of Defender Deathgripper have NOT been reported all across the Barbarian Archipelago. The reason for this is that every single witness to her gruesome assassinations are included in her rooster of targets. This leaves no one to speak of her.
  Dragons: Rise of Berk

Eruptodon[]

Defender Eruptodon has the hottest temper in the Caldera. Get on her bad side and you'll regret it. She won't even do anything to you directly. She'll just stand by as the lava flows, one eyebrow raised as if to say "feel bad about annoying me yet"?

Fireworm[]

Flightmare[]

Grapple Grounder[]

Grim Gnasher[]

Don't let this one's appearance frighten you - the Defender Grim Gnasher is a protector through and through. She sneaks in shadows not because she has anything to hide but to better keep watch on her chosen wards and to pounce on villains and foes when they least expect it.

Blind Sentinels are not the easiest dragons to tame, but Fishlegs found a single egg on his last trip to Vanaheim. He hand fed it as a wyrmling and now that it's full grown, it's one of the camp's best defenders.
  Dragons: Rise of Berk

Shockjaw[]

Skrill[]

Slitherwing[]

The flexible armor of the Defender Slitherwing is designed to let the natural toxins of their poisonous scales flow freely to the service, giving them a dangerous sheen in battle.

Snafflefang[]

Snaptrapper[]

Snow Wraith[]

Tirelessly vigilant, this proud old dragon patrols the snowy northern reaches day and night. He stands guard along a border no one remembers, keeping long-forgotten enemies at bay. His loyalty isn't easily earned, but should you get him to follow you, you'll gain a lifelong protector.
