Physical Appearance[]
Hatchling to Adult[]
The Deadly Spinner is mostly light blue with purple specks all over its body. It has 3 pairs of legs and two slim arms, each armed with three sharp claws. The Deadly Spinner also has a large horn protruding from its nose, as well as two green eyes. Its tail ends with an arrow-shaped tip. Appearance-wise, Deadly Spinners resemble Deadly Nadders and Silkspanners.
Abilities[]
Firepower[]
Deadly Spinners shoot flaming webs that harden upon impact and leave enemies hit by them immobilized. These webs are so strong that they can hold the weight of a grown Magma Breather several meters in air and even catch it mid-fall. These webs are also extremely magma-proof resistant, being to plug-in underground’s lava holes, while withstanding the extreme temperatures for long periods of time.
As shown by Webmaster in "Cold Open", Deadly Spinners not only shoot out one flaming web, but they can fire multiple webs at once, which remain attached to the dragon's mouth, showing that they can be used as tether lines or ropes. Also demonstrated by Webmaster in "Uncharted Territory", Deadly Spinners don't always shoot out flaming webs, as he shot a small flame without producing one, suggesting they may have two different types of fire power, or the fire he produced wasn't big enough to launch a web.
In the episode "Eugene's Lean Mean Extreme Dream Team", it is shown that, similar to Deadly Nadders, Deadly Spinners possess a point of pressure that triggers to fire multiple blasts more quickly in a short amount of time. This was accidentally discovered by Hazel Gonzalez when she tapped her hand behind Webmaster's neck, and the dragon immediately shot a fireball.
Deadly Spinners have been shown to possess great aim with their shots which have taken even dragons like Flame Throwers by surprise.
Strength and Endurance[]
Despite their docile nature, Deadly Spinners are physically very strong and capable fighters. They can easily carry a human with just their two front arms, and with help from Plowhorn and Webmaster's flaming webs, he broke the fall of three riders and their dragons. With his tail, Webmaster stopped a Deathgripper from stinging his rider, and with all his power, he held the Deathgripper's tail on the second attempt and made it sting itself. In "Heart of Glass", Webmaster also manage to briefly go toe-to-toe with the Glass Caster before being outmatched by its superior strength.
Speed and Agility[]
Despite their builds with multiple limbs, Deadly Spinners are capable of flying at great speeds. While flying, they are capable of either outpacing or keeping up with a number of other dragon species that are known for possessing impressive flight speeds. This was shown when one individual, Webmaster, was able to evade an entire pack of Flame Throwers, and later being able to keep up with a mature Night Light. They can even make complex moves such as swirls.
Wall Scaling[]
Similar to spiders, the legs of a Deadly Spinner are able to stick to and crawl along a variety of different surfaces without slipping or showing any signs of struggling. Indeed, a Deadly Spinner can scale cavern walls and big crystals shards with its legs, even upside down, proving its strong grip is able to hold onto slippery surfaces.
Intelligence[]
Deadly Spinners have been shown to be very intelligent, being able to learn a variety of skills over a short period of time once trained by a rider, as was demonstrated by Webmaster.
Stealth[]
Like a spider, Deadly Spinners' legs are capable of sticking to a variety of different surfaces without any signs of struggling. This allows them to be stealthy and silently sneak up on enemies without them noticing.
Behavior and Personality[]
Deadly Spinners are rather docile and friendly dragons in nature. One individual of this species in particular was shown to be unafraid of humans, due to never encountering one before, and quickly bonded with a human with little issue. They are also very sociable, wanting to interact with other dragons that they come across, even from different species, and can be quite saddened if the other dragons reject their friendly advances. Deadly Spinners are also extremely thankful to any human or dragon that rescues them from danger, during which they will form a strong emotional attachment to their rescuer and attempt to return the favor should the situation arrive.
Despite their friendly nature, Deadly Spinners can be threatening when provoked. When frightened or attacked by other dragons, a Deadly Spinner will become defensive and act aggressively against any other creatures near it, though they will only attack if the creature strikes them first.
In addition, they also appear to be somewhat mischievous dragons, as they like to pull pranks on others, which sometimes earns them the ire of other dragons, including the ones they try to befriend.
Training[]
Due to their docile and friendly nature, Deadly Spinners are generally very easy to tame. Approaching the dragon with kindness will allow one to earn its trust, thus allowing a bond to quickly form. However, taming a Deadly Spinner can be difficult if the dragon is in distress. If something occurred during or just prior to training to upset or frighten it, a Deadly Spinner will become defensive and aggressive, which can make it harder for a trainer to bond with it. Despite this, they can easily be calmed down by showing them compassion, which demonstrates that the trainer is of no threat to the dragon.
A most notable way of forming a bond with a Deadly Spinner is by protecting it from danger. Saving its life will result in the dragon forming a strong emotional connection to its rescuer, accepting them as both a trainer and a friend.
