“ | That's a Crystal Whip... Their long tail is their main method of defense. Try to keep your distance. [src] | ” |

The Crystal Whip is a subspecies of Razorwhip. It is first encountered in the Ice Realm in the game, DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms.
Physical Appearance[]
Crystal Whips mainly resemble normal Razorwhips. However, they have evolved to where the crystals have infused with the tough scales on their bodies which may give them a crystalline coloration like blue or aquamarine.
Abilities[]
Razorwhip Abilities[]
Just like the Razorwhip, the Crystal Whips tail is used as its main weaponry of choice, able to slice through objects with ease. Crystal Whip's fire type is a yellow flame that can be very dangerous.
Strength and Combat[]
The Guardian Razorwhip has been shown to wield a great amount of physical strength, as he was able to effortlessly swat away three dragons at once or a single teenager that only disturbed its sleep with a single stroke its tail. In contrast to the Razorwhips, the Crystal Whip's tail isn´t sharp but can deliver powerful and swift blows to his enemies. But in contrast to the Razorwhips they don´t seem to have any spines to shoot.
Speed and Agility[]
The Guardian Razorwhip is an extremely fast and agile flyer. During its battle with the Dragon Club, he was able to knock all their dragons back in a single swoop before any of them could react to defend themselves.
Endurance and Stamina[]
The Guardian Razorwhip is shown to possess great endurance and stamina due to the metallic plates protecting his body. During its fight with the Dragon Club, many of the Club's dragons attacks simply bounced off of the Razorwhip's underbelly, without making a single dent. Their stamina is proven only by struggle to mantain the created tornadoes while circling around it to mantain their forms in the order to entrap the enemies.
Intelligence[]
The Guardian Razorwhip has been shown to exhibit a large degree of intelligence when in battle. He is aware that the gaseous vapors in the Dark Realm are flammable and how to weaponize them by creating tornadoes which he can set ablaze with his flames.
Creating Tornadoes and Fire Tornadoes[]
In Dragons: The Nine Realms, an exceptionally large Crystal Whips demonstrates the ability to generate tornado-like winds using its wings and tail, which effectively blows away and entraps adversaries. When these cyclonic winds combine with the dragon's fire, the resulting storm ignites and becomes even more formidable to penetrate. It appears that the sustainability of these storms relies on the Crystal Whip continuously encircling its surroundings, and the storms subside if the dragon becomes incapacitated.
Fire Resistance[]
Because of the crystals combined to the scales, the Crystal Whips are highly resistant to fire attacks.
Weaknesses[]
Susceptible to Toxins[]
As seen in "Rise of Jörmungandr", Crystal Whips can become weak and sick from certain poisons, like the ones from Buzzsaw's poison darts, and they can't fly or fight.

Season 2[]
In "Follow the Lightning, Part 1", the Guardian Razorwhip attacked the Dragon Club in the Hidden World, when they unknowingly wander onto his territory while searching for their missing Night Light Thunder. The guardian proved to be extremely difficult for the Club to defeat, with his thick scales repulsing their attacks, while the dragon utilized the flammable vapors of the Hidden World’s atmosphere to create twisters which he could ignite with his flames. During the battle, the Guardian Razorwhip managed to trap the Dragon Club within a fiery twister and nearly incinerated them. Luckily, however, the storm was dispelled thanks to the efforts of the rider D'Angelo Baker and his Gembreaker Plowhorn, allowing the Club riders to retaliate and gang up on the Guardian Razorwhip, which quickly retreated upon realizing he was outmatched.
Season 3[]
In "The Sky Torcher", a number of Crystal Whips, including the Guardian Razorwhip, were among several dragons in the Crystal Realm that were fleeing from an invading Sky Torcher and its pack of Flame Throwers. The Guardian helped the riders tend to to the many dragons that were injured, until they heard the Sky Torcher roar and realized more trouble was coming. Later on though, the Crystal Whips were rallied alongside the other Crystal Realm Dragons by a massive Fault Ripper to fight against the Sky Torcher and defend the Crystal Realm. Under the Fault Ripper’s command, the Crystal Whips and other Crystal Realm dragons worked together to help the Dragon Club defeat the Sky Torcher and send both it and its Flame Thrower pack back to the Fire Realm, thus saving their home from destruction.
Season 4[]
In "Cold Open", when D'Angelo and Eugene are about to help injured dragons from the Sky Torcher battle Eugene says he should take charge and fly ahead and D'Angelo refers to the Crystal Whips by jokingly saying if they run into any tornado dragons then Eugene should handle it in which Eugene then agrees to fly behind.
Season 7[]
In "Rise of Jörmungandr", the Guardian spotted Buzzsaw intruding in his territory and tried to stop him from entering the Dark Realm. However, Buzzsaw used one of his poison darts on the dragon and he fell ill. The riders found him, and D'Angelo used an antidote he made from the slime of the slugs found in the Nature Realm and let him rest so he could recover.
Games[]
DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms[]
Crystal Whips appear in the Ice Realm of the Hidden World. Due to an earthquake caused by a comet flying close to the Earth, the landscape of the Hidden World changed drastically. Due to this, the Crystal Whips became agitated and hostile towards other dragons. The player, playing as Thunder the Night Light and Plowhorn the Gembreaker, has to fight numerous Crystal Whips in order to advance in the game.
Trivia[]
- The in-game icon refers to the dragon a "Crystalwhip". This is most likely a spelling error.
