Cagecruncher is a Monstrous Nightmare who was caught in one of the Dragon Hunter's traps. He first appeared in Night of the Hunters, Part 1, but later appeared in Dragons: Rise of Berk.

Description

These Monstrous Nightmares will eat anything in their way, including the cages they're trapped in.
  Dragons: Rise of Berk

Physical Appearance

Cagecruncher has the appearance of a normal Monstrous Nightmare. In Night of the Hunters Part I, his color is similar to that of Fanghook, Girl Hookfang, and Astrid's Monstrous Nightmare. However, in Rise of Berk, he is pink with pink and yellow wings and a yellow head. This was probably done to distinguish him from other Monstrous Nightmares in the game.

Race to the Edge

Night of the Hunters, Part 1

Cagecruncher was first seen trapped in a cage, held captive by hunters. A dragon hunter tossed it food before mocking it. Ryker, on the other hand, reminded him to treat it with respect before shoving his head against the cage. Ryker proceeded to praise the dragon's power and ferocity, remarking that it was smarter than the other dragon hunter. Cagecruncher lunged at the hunters, barely missing the first dragon hunter while Ryker escaped safely. Cagecruncher gnawed on the cage, attempting to escape. Ryker then smugly concluded that Cagecruncher was still not smarter than he was.

Trivia

  • It is unknown if Cagecruncher was freed from his cage, or if he is still trapped by the Dragon Hunters. However, Rise of Berk seems to state that he escaped from his cage.
