The Burne Lumber Company was a small logging company operating in the forest near the Kullersen Fissure, before being destroyed in a wildfire caused by its previous owner, Leonard Burne who was known by most people as “Buzzsaw”. During the events of Season 7, Wilma Sledkin built herself a secret lab underneath it to hide from the authorities after getting caught illegally mining Dragonsite.
History[]
Background[]
The company was founded 57 years prior to "Downpour" by a logger and businessman named Sterling Burne, who based it out of a small logging-town in the area where the fissure would form. Sometime around when the fissure was opened, the company was inherited by Sterling's grandson, Leonard, following his passing.
Dragons: The Nine Realms[]
Season 2[]
In "Downpour", the company and logging-town were destroyed in a massive forest fire, which had been caused when the company's owner, Leonard, had used an unsafe outdoor plug to power his loggers' chainsaws after they had ran out of gas. Fortunately, however, the company’s three employees, Ford, Winston and Dude, were secretly rescued from the fire by the Dragon Club, before being driven off to safety by ICARIS workers Dr. Olivia Kullersen and Philip Baker. Leonard, AKA Buzzsaw, however, attempted to save his family's company from the blaze, though he was unable to prevent its destruction. Left maddened by the loss of his family's company, Buzzsaw swore revenge against a strange creature, which he called a "lightning bird", that he believed responsible for the blaze (completely unaware that he himself was responsible).
Season 3[]
In “The Sky Torcher”, it was revealed that even though the company’s logging town was destroyed beyond repair, Buzzsaw is still recognized as the legal owner of the lands around which it used to stand upon. It is also revealed that a sinkhole opened in that area.
Season 7[]
In "404 Alex Not Found", as part of Buzzsaw and Sledkin's uneasy alliance Sledkin sets up a lab in an old mineshaft tunnel under Buzzsaw's old lumber company. The lab is filled with crates full of scientific equipment, large machinery and test tube chambers analysing Dragonsite. Linda helps set up everything in the lab while Buzzsaw and Sledkin argue on which is more important, finding a realm of Dragonsite or looking for a powerful death dragon. Later Buzzsaw returns to the lab exhausted and defeated after getting trapped in the Crystal Maze and losing the Book of Dragons, although relieved as he finds out Sledkin took pictures of a few of the book pages.
Season 8[]
In "The Great Foster Fake-Out", in Sledkin's lab she's trying to identify where the Gods Realm is but has no luck, especially when she grows frustrated with Linda fawning over Nibbles and Buzzsaw's Snowtail eating her research paper, which she storms out since they won't help her. Later back in the lab as Sledkin throws a piece of Dragonsite to the side and Nibbles tracks it she gets an idea on how to find the Gods Realm.
In "Of Gods and Monsters", to find the Gods Realm Sledkin kidnapped Plowhorn and brought her to the lab then caged and abused in her in a cell, where she explained to Linda how Plowhorn was going to track the Gods Realm, Sledkin also explained while becoming insane that she tampered with the elevator shaft so that if the Dragon Riders come looking for her they'd fall to their deaths. Later after helping Jack, Buzzsaw gives the riders the directions of Sledkin's lab saying its under his old logging company. When they arrive at the elevator shaft, Tom knows its a trap so Alex uses her tablet to map out the caves leading towards it. Then they blast through the cave wall which surprises Linda and Nibbles making them hide. The riders don't find Plowhorn but interrogate Linda who reveals where Sledkin is going.
