Not so fast! Aren't you forgetting something? It's boot night! They need to be aired out.
  Stoick to Hiccup

Boot Night is a periodic event that the members of the Hooligan Tribe all take part in.

History[]

It is unknown when Boot Night originated or what the frequency is, though it might be inferred that it occurs multiple times a year. Boots are placed outside the main door of the home so that they can air out. According to Dragons: Titan Uprising, the game Smashsticks-on-Ice is played on Boot Night.

The Dragon Riders are seen in "In Dragons We Trust" putting out a pair of boots each. For Hiccup, Snotlout, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut, the pair of boots belong to their fathers. During the night, everyone's boots are stolen, and in the morning are found in the Arena piled around Barf and Belch, implying that he stole them. Both men and women villagers are barefoot and angry at having their boots stolen.
