Angela Bartys is the voice actress for Gothi, as well as Astrid Hofferson in the video games How to Train Your Dragon, School of Dragons, and How to Train Your Dragon 2. Bartys also voiced Chicken and Trader Lena.
Biography[]
Angela Bartys started by going to sound school but quickly dropped out and moved to California. A series of unusual events led her to voice acting.
In addition to voicing Astrid in the video game, How to Train Your Dragon, she was also the "scratch vocals" for Astrid in all the television shows. Scratch voicing is a behind the scene activity wherein a voice actor records all the lines to assist with animation and writing before the final vocals are made by the voice actor (in this case America Ferrera).
Angela Bartys was nominated for BTVA Special/DVD Voice Acting Award twice, once in 2012 for work in Secret of the Wings, and again in 2015 for The Pirate Fairy.
