Plot[]

Tom is amazed at the Hidden World of dragons, but he is forced to postpone his exploration when he gets an alert that his mom is heading home. With help from the dragon, Tom makes it home in time without Olivia suspecting anything. The next day, Tom tries to head back to the cave, but finds Philip has set up sensors that will set off an alarm if he tries sneak out. He turns to Alex for help to get by the sensors, and she gives his phone an application to deactivate the sensors.

When Tom reaches the cave, he discovers that Jun has followed him to find the dragon. She heads into the cave and despite Tom's efforts, discovers the dragon. At first, she is frightened, but calms down when she sees him play with Tom. Jun is amazed to see a real dragon, proof that the myths she believes in are real, and Tom introduces her to the dragon, who they name Thunder. Jun wants to take a picture to prove to her mother that her beliefs are real, but Tom warns her it would be too dangerous to tell anyone, even their parents, because they work for Rakke Corp. Jun agrees to keep the secret and Tom takes her on a flight through the fissure to show her the Crystal Realm filled with dragons.

Jun is fascinated by the dragons, but in her awe, gets too close to a group of Gembreakers that she accidentally provokes. The Gembreakers chase after the trio and during the chaos, Jun falls down a hole and lands in an underground lake housing a Mist Twister that is also trapped and agitated. Tom and Thunder find Jun but are unable to get to her without risking collapsing the ceiling and crushing her and the Mist Twister. Matters are made worse when the Mist Twister's desperate attempts to get out of the hole destabilize the cave. Jun believes the only way out is to train the Mist Twister and after Tom and Thunder leave to escape the Gembreakers, (With Tom assuring Jun that they'll be back) she tries to command the dragon to obey her and bribe it with treasure, but both attempts fail. Meanwhile, Tom and Thunder try to escape the Gembreakers, but the dragons are restless and not even Thunder's lightning blasts deter them.

Back at the lake, Jun continues to struggle with the Mist Twister, making no progress. After earnestly expressing her frustrations and doubts about her destiny with dragons, she discovers she has gotten the dragons' attention and calmed them down. She realizes that the dragons need to be treated with respect and reverence and takes a new approach. She names the dragon Wu and Wei, after the stories from her childhood, and respectfully asks them for their friendship and their help, which finally allows her to form a bond with them. Tom and Thunder finally manage to lose the Gembreakers when Thunder unveils his ability to turn invisible and tricks the Gembreakers into getting their horns stuck inside a crystal.

Jun instructs Wu and Wei to carefully use their steam and ice blasts to widen the hole enough to escape unharmed. Tom and Thunder discover Jun's new bond and the group leaves before the Gembreakers can get free. On the way out, they discover a trail of destruction and a large hole in the wall.
